I like the half-breed looking key. Nice rams too..nice n shiny

Thanks AR. I gave the silvers a little rub with bi carb. They were all black.

Great job Rod, killing it. I love those Chinese coins. Are they still made the same these days? With the hole in the middle?

Totally confuses me that the Chinese were meant to dig round circular shaped mine shafts but put square holes in their coins, the mind totally boggles on that conundrum.

A smaller round hole would remove less silver than a the current square hole... :p

I do agree,... the more silver the better(ha),..... though perhaps the ancient chinese(for whom I have total respect) were onto something with regards who gets the most silver out of the deal(the state or the people),.... perhaps it was the people doing the minting, or just those in charge of the land that were in the know enough to do the maths involved in relation to the profit of a square hole over a round one).
Glad you brought the subject up though spatch,... as it was only through reflection on what you said that made me see the maths involved in an entirely new light.
Cheers
Silver. :D

Got yourself some nice finds there Rod, a lovely locket and managed to beat me to a chinese coin - aaah, one day. 8.(

Mrs RJ bought a car and dropped me off to drive it home. Of course I had to take the Pro and check sites for potential on the way home. Once again someone has been there before me so I tried some less obvious spots. 45 minutes proved it's worth going back as I got a couple of nice older pre decs. An 1860 penny which is my oldest penny and a 1911 sixpence. Stubborn dirt on the sixer. It was 32 degrees by 9.30 and what felt like 200% humidity so I wussed out and came home. Oh got my first ice cream scoop :D
Not sure what the 3 copper items with rivets are. Parts of an old fence maybe.

Huge thanks to Dave Law for inviting us to a sweet site. Dave had tested it and realized it was virgin ground and waited until Rocket and I could join him to give it a proper going over.
A great result for all of us with a total of 99 coins between us including 19 silvers. About 75% of the finds at least came from one small area. Dave barely moved for over an hour because every time he stood up from digging one coin he got another signal. As he moved away i went over his spots and got more coins and Dave went over where Greg and i had been an found more still. Honey hole indeed. Rocket had 2 florins, one being an early one, 1917. He also got the best relics and detected less time as his shoulder was giving him hell. A great day out. The old pump was in the area too.
