BBQ Kettle, yes. A spray inside with vegetable oil followed by a small burning.

As for the pizza oven, did not get to open the box yet. Might be one of my weekend jobs.
Hi fwdoz
try to stay away from vegetable oils when seasoning/curing, BBQ/camp ovens ,yes i know they all say use it
but i have seen it happen once only but have heard of quite a few times over the years
of the vegetable oil going rancid and virtually destroying the cooking vessel

stick with a canola, rice bran or a coconut oil

when forging food utensils i always stick with canola oil for rust prevention, about the best for allergy free ( and also is the best easily sourced for hardening steels )
if they are non food items i usually use coconut oil sourced from the manufacturer in 10 litre pails ,which is odour free
the same grade that the hospitals use for frying food

We actually use Canola oil normally, so thats what I will be using when I set it up.

I am already picturing a beautiful pork or leg of lamb in it!

Sometime after last summer I bought a ceiling fan.

Fan 1.jpg

The instructions were written in what was meant to be english but took a lot to decipher.

Fan 2.jpg

The fan blades come out when it's switched on.

I fitted it up yesterday after the sun dropped but the whole process took me into last night. I had to wait for daylight so that I could turn the power off long enough to wire it in. It's very gentil, quiet and fantastic. Now I just have to refit the power points and the sheet of iron when pulled the end off the gable roof to get access.

Today I bought a 2025 Toyota Hilux 4x4 dual cab tray top, signed on the dotted line about an hour ago. I bought it from our local dealer in Victor Harbor, they gave me a great trade-in deal on my Colorado and thier new car price was very competitive. The Colorado has been a very good car but it's 9 years old and as we've sold the Slide-On camper it was a good time to upgrade, Miss Kay has been badgering me for a few months to buy a new car and even offered to pay half, so with the cash from the Slide-On and Kay paying half, the Hilux has turned out to be a bargain I reckon. I've got to wait around 3 months for delivery but I'm patient. I'll post some photos when it arrives.🚗
