Got an hour in at the same spot again today, was wet and mushy, not much fun really after all the rain last night.

Anyway I managed to bag a couple of penny's, a threepence and a sixpence which were together in the same hole, plus a few moderns. Someone lost 2 local club badges in the same hole, must have been staggering home drunk as a skunk and crashed there to sleep it off some time in the past lol.

Had a few hours at the same honey hole again today, got a silver ring spill, 2 rings in the same hole, it certainly pays to re-check holes after removing targets. Gotta love the CTX, probably never would have found these without it, they were surrounded by several junk targets and were almost masked, flicked it into ferrous/coin and they were revealed with a clarity and TID that only sterling silver gives. Stoked!

Found 2/3 of a Florin also, does that count as a Florin find? Looked for the rest of it but couldn't find it. Also got my oldest coin from this spot too, a 1904 Penny.

Yeah I was shocked to be honest, had a silver TID come up, removed the first one and there was still another silver TID there, I removed that too, "first ring spill" I thought to myself.

Got them towards the end, was a frustrating hunt, I pulled about 30 BB's and then the cut Florin, I thought "what else can go wrong", thankfully it didn't.

A cut florin is better than no florin, so I reckon it definitely counts (bit like my cut silver 50c). Those silver rings are coming on thick and fast for you, excellent work Heatho.

So true mate, glad you think they count. Seems to go in cycles with the jewelry, none for ages then 5 rings in 3 weeks, go figure.

Thanks. Would have to be at least 600-700 in coins so far GW plus the silvers and rings, just from this oval. It's been a pretty good spot but a lot of work, it's a big area and has a lot of trash.

I have 4 huge ovals all within 5 mins from where I live that have given me similar amounts of coins and other finds.

Just a quick hunt today, only about 2 hours, finished off the treeline and will start working along other sections of this oval now, back to where I got those silvers rings the other day.

Got a penny, a half penny, a shilling today and a few bucks in moderns. Pre decimals seem to be thinning out a bit now.... Hopefully I can find another patch of them.

I dig a hell of a lot of junk too, just the way it is, your ratios will improve with time I'm sure Numpty.

Like Heatho said, we all dig trash numpty. I counted mine on a recent hunt and it was about 120 trash for 22 coins. Some sites are like that.
