Bit heavier than the 11" too, though it punches really deep, got a penny at about 25cm and it was a nice clear signal. I've flogged this area I just did and quite a few deep BB's came out as well. Pinpointing is easy and accurate with it. All the TID's were very close to the 11" also. Really keen to hit the beach with it now. Quite impressed even though it was only a quick hunt.
Look out honey hole, here comes Heatho with big daddy, nothing will escape this duo detecting machine,LOL Glad you got off to a good start with the new addition mate, will be interesting to see how you warm to it down the track a bit.
Cheers, SinHof.
Here's the results of the swing. The shell thing/keyring/whateveritis I thought was silver at first, it was just sunbaking so obviously a recent drop. Very happy with the way it performs, this spot is very trashy and it stuggled a tad in the little spots with numerous close together junk targets but in saying that originally I thought it would be worse than it actually was.
Hit Queenscliff beach for a few hours this morning, finds were few and far between but still not a bad hunt, managed about $27 and 3 little silver rings, plus a sixpence. Really loving the big coil, the size of the thing allows you to smash through huge amounts of ground pretty quickly, gotta say that by the end of the hunt the CTX felt pretty heavy to me for the first time.....
G'Day Heatho,
Look's like the the big coil has found another grateful user, a few more hours swing time and the weight factor will soon vanish, if put the detector down when digging targets this will help too, great finds there also.
Cheers, Sinhof.
GP, they were quite random but down the same end of the beach. I picked an area and was doing 100m long walks parallel to the beach wall. So I did about 100mx15m roughly. Could have been the same person shedding rings everywhere.
Great finds heatho , I almost gave the 10x 5 eliptical a crack , but stayed with the bigger coil , it's a beast of a coil and I'm just plain addicted to it
Yeah it sure is good but struggles in trashy areas, the 10x5 is way better suited for heavy clutter. I just like the fact I can cover heaps of ground with the 17" coil. Though the 10x5 always produces well in the right places.
