Yes, I must agree it is a notch down from the hoards of treasure you have been pulling lately but I still look at the results of your off days and think 'what a great haul'

You always have good hunts with me! Sunday arvo......I have 2 mini honey holes inmind :) Working on finding another 2 :)

Today I had a couple of hours so I went to an old historic site. I wasn't expecting a lot of coins but hoped for some really old stuff. After 1 1/2 hours I had the button in the pic. So I went to a spot that has been good to me before. Take 4 steps from the car and put my coil down to ground balance and boom. Penny :D

I only have a couple of Britannia pennies GP. Only rinse them with water.

Today ended up a good day detecting. It was another slow start. When we stopped for lunch Rocket had a single penny and we both had about $10 in goldies and a handful of BBs. The 2nd location after lunch turned up some pre decimals. I got 2 pennies together then 2 half pennies. A little later I got a sweet little coin spill with the florin, the shilling, 1 threepence and the shotgun shell all together. Must have been an interesting night. :D 2nd pic is the day's silvers after a wash Sitting in an ashtray I also dug.

You are very consistent on your run of florins, I'd almost be disappointed if you didn't come up with one on every hunt. :p

Jokes aside, got to love those spills, especially being all silver is a good thing. :)

I thought I'd just a quick comment here! We've been away on holidays for the last 7 weeks - left SA, up the guts to Alice Springs [stayed 2 days] on to Katherine [stayed another 2 days] then onto Adelaide River [another couple of days] into Darwin where we stayed 2 weeks. Left Darwin for Kakadu [2 weeks there] then down to 3 ways and across to Mt Isa where we turned left and headed to Normanton. Across to Mareeba, then in to Cairns. Having a great time and along the way - and here's the point of the post - I have been having a swing in the caravan parks. To date I have half filled a Peanut Paste jar with 1c and 2c coins along with 1 & 2 Dollars coins. As I said been away for 7 weeks and so far all the washing my wife has done has been paid for courtesy of the dropped coins in parks. [I think to date I have found about $80 and there will still be more to come.]When we are home I'll post the result.

Sometimes fellas, its not the stuff you find but the people you meet while out having a swing. I'm on holidays up in Cairns and theres this park across the road so I thought, well why not. I had been swinging for about 20mins and this nice old guy from some units next door came over and wanted to talk. "Watcha doing" he asked. "Detecting mate" I said. I showed him how the detector gives me a number representing a target type, the depth, the possible target, etc etc. and he was blown away. "Always wanted to get one of them" he said, so he watched as I swung and was intrigued. I had just dug a 2c piece so I gave it to him to take away.......... I had to go, and he did too, so we parted but as he left he said he'd have to get one and have a try around the place. Maybe another propective member for the forum!
O, BTW, I broke the duck with my first ring in that park - only a junky thing but a ring none the less. Maybe things will turn around in that area.

Mrs Ramjet reckons the tiny stones in the ring are diamonds. :D

Daz I totally agree. I enjoy talking to the people who come up to me while detecting. Toady a gent stopped to ask a few questions then went into a nearby business. By the time he came back past me I had found the silver ring and showed it to him.

Had 8 kids following me around last weekend, everytime I dug a hole, they would pounce upon me. Was a little annoying, as they were trying to get their hands close to hole, and when a goldie popped, they asked for it. I mustave found about 8 goldies with them, but it eventually gave me the *****, so I packed it in. On the way out, one little guy told me, that I was awesome. The week before I had a group of kids following me around, but they were much quieter. Most of them had never seen 2s, or 1s so I gave them some. Should be young detectorists clubs, kids less sporty could do it as a sport, instead of playing video games all the time.
