First photo, between one and two oclock? Sure I saw other stuff in the sunlight today.

Hi all, I'm in Pine Creek, NT on holidays. When we arrived a month ago in NT I went to the INFO centre to get an idea on where I could and couldn't detect. The nice lady told me of a few places, and then proceeded to tell me the places that were now closed. Pine Creek is one of them. So when I got here, I thought well cant hit a creek or two, best just hit the CP we are in. And in 2hrs, detecting just 4 sites and under the clothes line at the back of the dunny, 4x$2, 1x$1, 2x5c, 2x2c and 9x1c. 18 coins in a spot 30mx30m. Pity we are leaving tomorrow. Ah well, keeps the hand in ready for the trip to Vic when we get home.

It being such an old town thought I might have unearthed a pre-decimal or two but no such luck.

I had another shot at the park before we left today and unearthed another $11.00 or so. That made $20.40 or so from just 10 sites and about 3hrs, so the cost of a night at this park was just 4 bucks. Gotta luv these AT Pros.

Feeling the need late this arvo so I grabbed the detector and walked to a small spot that has given me 2 florins so far. No such luck today after about an hour.

At least you scored a PD RJ.

Though it needs to be from 1895! ;) Just imagine if we combined all our 1 & 2c coin finds on this forum, I reckon it would be a pretty impressive amount. :D

I had a great day today. Met Rocket at a new spot and it was lightly raining. It was a bust so we moved to another spot. My first find was the lovely 1954 florin and the sun came out. Bonus. A metre away I found the sixpence. Later in the day I dug the 2 threepence pieces from one hole only 3 metres from the florin. The ring was close by as well, add a few pennies and half pennies and it was a mini honey hole. It was a steady flow of coins, relics and trash all day.One penny is a 1936 Britannia and another is Commonwealth of Aus. 1933. The rest are Roos.
No idea what the square object is. I thought maybe pocket watch but there are no gears etc. It looks like springs inside, made from some metal. Too light to be silver.

What, are you pulling my leg ???

If the holes were full of the sovereigns, florins and shillings they were designed to hold you would certainly know what it is
