Wife came home at 8:15pm from work and I was on the beach detector in hand by 8:30pm.
I wasn't satisfied with my last dig and so off I went but this time I stayed away from the patch I worked before.
Something told me to go in another direction and soon enough up popped a sixpence.
At that moment an elderly gentlemen asked what I found and I said well I've just gotten here and I have a sixpence.
We chatted for a good 15minutes and he told he how he used to work at the mint back in the 60s, 70s..
Was good listening to his story and then I was back into my dig.
Water was black, silt from the creek and seaweed as well as rubbish that washed down made for an interesting night.
3 rings very close to one another, the first was a broken silver ring, the 2nd a silver claddagh and the third a 15 gram stonker religious ring with the words 'God be with you'.
A few coins popped up and then boom Gold with a huge blue stone, all the rings have been there for a long time. The 3 junkers were by the patch I hit the other night as well as the skull pendant and the Anchor pin.
It was a good night and the biggest ring haul for me at 7...
I'm not sure when I'll be out again so
Until next time happy detecting
Cheers Gda
