Got out this morning before sunrise and crowds flooded the beach.. Very enjoyable with a few goodies/spendies. 1 junker ring and 1 gold toned ring which I thought was a junker but the weight had me thinking ?. So under the camera zoomed in to see what looks like 10..usually I'm pretty sure of whether it's gold or not but this one is a maybe.

Acid test? If you pop that stone out you could do gravity. 6.6 grams looks about right for gold.

Well done man, I'm still waiting for good conditions and au day

I saw a test using polish on youtube and so I used a metal polish then rubbed the ring and let it sit, I then cleaned it and it came up a copper tone so it's fake.

Damn hot here at the moment butt I was at the crack of dawn 5am out the door at 5:30am and on the beach at 6am..I road tripped it again and got a few goodies. Spendies, sunnies, 3 junker rings a necklace a bangle gold coloured and 2 cars.. The baby doll was nearly the waters edge so I brought it home for my daughter and she loves it.
I'm hanging out for a good water hunt and looks like the swells are going to push some more sand around so next week I'm aiming to get out to my patch.

Got out this arvo for another look for a ring that went missing a week ago, met Vinnie there and also made sure Tracey met me so we could have a better chance of finding the ring.
40minutes or so Vinnie found it, all up 6 or 7 of us looked for it and we finally came up with happy smiles.

Yeah mate twas awesome being out in the water... Funnily enough the Copper Chopper flew past really low, little did I know that it was following and keeping an eye on a shark that was spotted 3 suburbs away. ?

With everything that has been going on, early morning detects and ring recoveries I totally forgot the one find I've been wanting for a long time.
Someone mentioned how could I forget it and basically called bs on the find... Lol I'm not fussed little does he know I slept 3 hours last night, was up at 5am, on the beach at 6am home at 10am with backpack, finds bag full and detector in hand and a ring recovery promise on my mind.
But anyway here it is and after some searching I now have a name. Demijohn stoneware. :D
From the ones I've seen online it's circa 1910?

Little bit of damage but I'll take it.

Got out last night as soon as the wife got home.
The low tide was perfect, I was only expecting to catch the tail end of it but the strong easterly kept it at bay for an hour while I was there.
Some nice gutters produced a good coin patch, but before that 10 minutes into my swing I got my first ring, very heavy and brittle, it's like lead but not 100% sure.
The coppers patch was next then snap, my beach scoop broke, the welds came apart but it was holding on by one single support rod ugh.. I nursed it for a few more coins and a Silver ring and then it totally broke so I had to leave early.
Good thing I now have a arc welder and am pretty good with it as well.
Beach scoop all mended up and will be good until I can buy a backup scoop.
Wanted to go out tonight and hit those gutters again but the rain is pouring down in bucket loads.
