"The early bird gets the worm"
And a hand full of silvers always makes a good day better :D
Looking forward to seeing todays finds

After yesterday's disappointment of being the only club member on site for a detect, the numbers were doubled today with just one other member rocking up - shame, shame. Luckily two other members arrived later in the afternoon for a quick run around the lake, and they scored a few pre-decimals for their efforts. A cricket buckle was also found by the second member this morning, stranglely it was found well and truly miles out onto the lake flats.

Didn't as well on the predecimals today, the only silver was another Ramshead shilling, and a mix of commonweath/roo pennies and half pennies. After hitting quite a few BB's at the end of a boat ramp, I gridded up either side of the ramp and scored a silver ring, shilling, sinkers and numerous fishing lures. The remains of a Lesney truck also surfaced, though a little worse for wear.

Would good to revisit the site with a larger coil and do some extensive gridding, as predecimals were also being found well out on the lake flats, not to mention the cricket buckle. :)

Square nails are always a good find too ,... good to see silver pop, even if it wasn't a florrie ! :D
And the ring ,.... duck hunters and fisherman lose cool stuff.

Thanks Rocket, the pictured lure is veey similar to the Pflueger Breakless Devon Minnow, the other guy with me found eight of them today. This brass version dates between 1897-early 1900's, later ones were nickel plated. To be honest I had no idea how old these lures actually were, might be the start of yet another collection. ;)

Wow, sudden death for fish, just swimming next to it could get you hooked ,... what a beauty ! :D

Makes you wonder if they ever had trouble getting the fish off the lure. Thankfully all of the hooks had long rusted away, wouldn't be much fun being jagged by it. :p

your finds keep getting better and better
your not shy of silvers

The Deus does everything I could possibly ask of it, the Etrac has now gone to a new owner.

Still need to spend a few good weeks on the Racer 2 to form an opinion on it. :)

Bit of a shortish hunt today with Sheryl after the first location came up short, with just one button making an appearance. The second location was close by, and although we had been there previously for just a few finds, we thought it might pay to revisit and have one more sweep over the area. Not a huge amount was found aside from a few buttons and buckles, we left with a coin each - an 1886 hp for myself, and 1882 penny for Sheryl. The hp was quite deep at 10", must have been sitting on edge as it only signalled a whisper from the surface.

The braces buckle is labelled "Paris - Solid", and the other strange round brass item has apparently something to do with slide rules from around the WW2 era. :)

Hello GP :)

Can you please tell me about your digger in these photo's e.g. name, cost, material, length, etc, etc.

Thanks.

Hi Cashgoldsilver, if you search in the detector accessories section on this forum, you will see its a Raptor from Predator Tools. Goldpick says where he got it from and how much.
Hope you dont mind me answering for you Goldpick.
