A few silvers today and a small silver ring. Have started mixing a new record for a mate and needed to get out of the house for a couple of hours. First time mixing music in at lerast 2 years, actually feels good doing it too. :)

I haven't had a ramshead for a fair while, it's either a flood or famine on those. Still doing well Heatho, what's the year's silver tally up to now, must be getting up there. :)

Wow, sure got some weight there, you got them cleaned up pretty good too. Did you soak them in something to get that result?

Mike.

Hey Mike70, if they are really dirty Isoak them in a mild citric acid solution and then rub them with soda bi-carb parte. If they are pretty good already just a rub with bi-carb paste.

Hey Smithy glad you enjoy my posts, great to hear, thanks.

Rocket, interestingly enough I bought my CTX exactly 1 year ago tomorrow. :) 98% of the stuff pictured was found with the CTX during the past year.

Though a few coins and rings were found with the aldi also and a few with Barney's E-Trac that he lent me for a couple of weeks. Borrowing the E-trac convinced me that I needed a CTX as they are very similar detectors. First 5 mins with the E-Trac and I had a florin and a silver ring.

First 5 mins with the CTX and I had that great big ugly silver ring with the opal on page 1 of this thread. :D

All up I think I've been detecting the local parks since about March 2014.

Nice Heatho, the CTX would of paid for it's self in that year ahh? Goldies and Silvers.

Easily paid off in the first 3 months mate. Has paid for itself pretty much with just goldies alone, all the rest of the treasure is profit. :)

Heatho, it's only paid for itself if you ever sell your finds. Like my nugget finds, I doubt you'll ever sell. Even in my rocking chair, I'll be looking at them all. With kids, who knows?

 time to build a treasure chest Heath

I think I might go out and build a citric acid plant, after that post business should be booming ;)

Certainly is a great hobby GW, 100% self perpetuating. :)

BW, I cash in all my goldies, got just under a grand last container and have more than a grand in the one I'll sash in soon. ;) Detector has paid for itself. I won't sell my gold either, not that I really have much but what I have I'm keepin, same with the silvers. :)

Have only needed 1 little tin of citric Wally, seems to just last and last. They have all cleaned up pretty good though.

Cheers RJ.

Had a go at Manly beach today near North Steyne surf club, found a few bucks in moderns and 3 pre decimals, a 1922 HP, 1952 Thrippy and an 1884 Shilling, also a very small silver ring, maybe a toe ring or childs ring. Can't believe that coin has been sitting under the sand for so long, was in amongst some rocks. The erosion edge is still there and I don't think anyone had detected this stretch since the storm, I've actually never seen rocks on Manly beach before today, also there was a gritty sort of clay layer with pebbles in it, have never seen this stuff there before either, a lot of sand has gone from there.
