Hunted a totally new spot today, was chatting with a mates dad the other day and he said I should give it a go, it sort of in the bush in a very unlikely position but I thought I'd try it anyway. 3rd target was a penny and I knew there would be more nice coins there, which there was.
Ended up with 2 florries a sixpence and 2 penny's. Also got my first silver pocket watch cover, going to have to go back to find the rest of it now as it's 0.935 silver. Probably won't be many more coins there as I gave the spot a decent going over but was moving fast and maybe a bit haphazardly, I could surprise myself though, anyway will give it one more going over.
Good to see a fob watch case for a change, usually it's just the guts or silver plated odd and sods that we find. Didn't take long to get back into the florries again.
Cheers AR, will keep that in mind when I head back there.
Was pretty stoked when I unearthed it GP, yeah had a pretty decent run on the florries lately, hope it keeps up. I think this site is pretty much done though, it's only a very small area.
Another good day on the silver, back at my usual haunt continuing on from where I left off. 1 florin, 2 shillings, 1 sixpence, 1 threepence, 3 penny's and 2 half penny's plus a sterling pendant. I've pretty much finished this part of the field, now on to grid the next section...... Still a few months worth of detecting left to do at this spot.
