I don't think that it looks fresh when you look up close at it, it would be very shiny compared to the rest of the coin if it had just happened (seen a few myself to know)(ha).
Looks the same as the rest of the coin to me ! ;)

Thanks Silver for the observation. :)

Got a couple more silvers today from the same spot.

Bummer Rod, working Saturday sux. :(

Cheers AR, does look like 1321 hey. :D

Bummer Rocket, still I reckon there must be some silver in that spot you hit today, especially with all those penny's.

Could have been Silver, I worked hard for them.

Better put that 1321 coin in the oldest coin section. :D

The .925 silvers are in great nick, and good to see some some non toasted commies coming out of the ground. Have you ever dipped into the 1800's coinage at that site at all Heatho, or are we talking stupid depths for such coins? :)

The 1920 came out as shiny as anything GP, very rare for that spot, was in a higher well draining position and not soaking in rich black mud for a long time. No have never found any 1800's coins at any of these spots, though one spot I tried once I got a Cartwheel penny but that was down the road a bit and is almost undetectable ground due to being an old rubbish dump. The Cartwheel was the only good target I got there.

There are some very deep targets at these spots but yeah I have to leave them or the council guy will get upset, might try in a couple of the less used areas and see what comes out but I just don't think much older coins are actually there, oldest was a 1902 Penny.

Dunno about die crack Silver, do you think it is? I thought I scratched it but it almost seems I couldn't have done that much damage to it.....

Anyway here's a close up mate, die crack or over enthusiastic retrieval?

Break out the backhoe. ;)

Few silvers from this morning, was quite happy with the 2 Florries right next to each other, Sixpence was the first target, the silver ring was the deepest ring yet, bit over 20cm down, must have been there a long time, was way deeper than the silver coins. Goldies are always welcome too. :) Must have been easy 20 bb's too, they are not welcome, lol.
