Got my new coil from Minelab today, gotta give them 11 out of 10 for customer service. They only received the broken one yesterday as the post was all backed up from chrissy/new year, they sent the new one yesterday arvo and I got from a courier at the door at 1:30 PM today, outstanding service!!

Woohoo, back in action, now just gotta wait for the rain to go away.

Nice mate, glad that was a quick turn around. I ordered the Coiltek 10x5 as your coil s%#ting it's self got me thinking about if mine does the same. When you use it for the first time can you take notice whether it seems to be quieter than your old one, as I reckon all the bashing I have done with mine has made it a little chatty when sweeping close to the ground.

That was a quick turnaround, good effort from Minelab. Did you get any flooding in your usual detecting locations, or all good to go? :)

No worries GW, will check it. The old one though I could run a high sensitivity and it was pretty quiet, I'll see how the new one compares.

Yeah pretty stoked GP that they didn't waste any time getting it back here. There was a bit of local flooding, nothing serious though like up the coast around the Lower Hunter region and Newcastle, pretty bad up there in places. The ovals around here will have big puddles and probably will be half underwater, all the ground on half the coast of NSW is waterlogged, will take a while to dry out.

I stayed at my parents place in the Hawkesbury area last night and have never seen so much rain there as yesterday.

Had a quick swing today, the ground was like soup, yuk! Anyway persisted for an hour, got $10 and went home, was only going for obvious goldies with a double tone meaning they are on the surface.

GW, there was very little difference between coils, got great depth today but the ground was saturated, so maybe was extra conductive. Anyway was pretty much the same as just before the other one died.

Thanks mate might just be me, although I did pull the coil cover off today and there was alot of grit between the coil and cover so maybe that was doing it.

Could be all the grit mate. Hope it's nothing worse than that. Should be fine, maybe sesitivity too high?

Got out for a couple of hours each day over the last few days, got a few moderns and pre decimals. $33.50 in moderns, 7 penny's, 2 half penny's, 2 sixpence a shilling and a threepence. Got all the pre dec from a new patch at the ol honey hole today, can't believe it's still giving them up, still quite a bit of undetected area there to do. :)

Nothing like getting carried away on the hunt. :D
well done Heatho. ;) :D

Cheers mate, sure did once I started getting some penny's, conditions were difficult, long grass, wet, spiders..... I hate spiders..... hopefully no ticks. Only did this spot as there were cricketers on the patch I was working, glad I did it, gives me hope for the rest of this 100m strip of ground.
