I wonder what i will find tomorrow ...

Doing well there matey. try a quick soak and swirl in some vinegar and salt to clean up the rings. if they are silver, shouldn't affect them. any copper shows thru, there's your answer. you seem to have some good sites to choose from and not much competition which of course is ideal.

What a holly jolly hunt Sandta,.....looks like you will be needing to keep tally of those silver numbers now.

Great finds, who cares about digging some junk when you can get a decent tally on the coins. Got my Ace prepped and ready to go down to the beach tonight, thanks to some good weather over the weekend, here's hoping. ;)

Good luck GP ... Hope you get a motser :p
Its a long weekend here in NSW , also end of school holidays... The beaches should be packed :)
Gonna try getting down there monday arvo.
Went to the park this arvo for a couple of hours before dark

your on wages Sandta, I can see you rubbing your hands with glee.

i went to a footy oval on the way home from work this arvo, i have thought about this place for a while. The grounds are very well maintained and i dont want to cause any visible disturbance that may lead to being confronted and asked to leave, so the discrimination settings sound only on the high end targets.
Armed with my screwdriver and pro pointer i set out... Only picking goldies in the top 2-3" ,leaving minimal evidence of my visit
$39.10 :D ... Both 5c coins were sunbakers , just there to be picked up

And a cool skull ring ( junk , unfortunately )

I hope to return tomorrow for a few more :p

Surely you can't expect more, you may require a backpack for all your finds! :D

The coil im waiting for is a Nel Hunter (DD)
Went back to the oval this arvo, another round of good results :p
$41.25 ( again the 5 x 5c coins were all just sitting there waiting to be picked up)

1412849298_image.jpg

Ye im pretty happy with that lot :D

Ya Hoo ... My new coil arrived today ( Nel-Hunter)
I just had to get out and give it a go ;)
I GOT ABSOLUTELY SOAKED !
I went back to the footy field and spent almost 2 hours searching
It probably wasnt the best place to go for testing , as the grounds are very well maintained and not the place i want to make a mess of ... I only intended to use my screwdriver for retrieval , but found pinpoitning with this coil a little trickier than anticipated and even though i reduced the sensitivity right down i was still pinging targets around 4" deep.
Im sure with a little practice and some further testing i will back in the groove :p
$11.05 ...another ring( junk i think) ... A couple of lumps of brass for the scrap bin and the usual pile of shredded cans
