More detector gear money! Good to have at least one silver in the bag from a detect, those goldies must be starting to add up.

Have certainly had worse weekends
Funny though ... The old coins are still the highlight for me

I got a 20 minute hunt in this arvo after work before i had to tuck tail and run... Another savage late arvo thunder storm

Seems to be a lot of running from lightning lately, I had the same issue last night. Not worth hanging around to see whether your detector works as a lightning prod.

Surprised you are still using "the toy" Sandta? Have you tried park hunting with the Sovereign yet?

Sometimes it's just nice to get lots of finds,...hey Sandta.

It's not what you've got, it's how you use it! I reckon clean up with the Ace as much as you can, then maybe go back and look for deeper stuff with the Sovereign, though using the Detech coil will probably be best when there is not so much junk about.

No, i havent as yet ... But i have bought a 10"x5" coiltec coil for it

Hi GP , that has been my intension ... The spot i got all those pre decimals
Will definitely be going over that area with the sov ... But not till next winter
i dont think that the 15" Detech would be suitable in such a delicate area

I enjoyed a bit of a sleep in this morning...
Didnt get to the park till 9am.
I spotted this isolated little park by chance and noticed a couple of covered tables/benches so thought it worth hunting . Not the best result as the heat beat me in the sun and the mossies nailed me in the shade so i gave up after about an hour or so.
But the results were definitely promising
$4.10 in spendables , 4x2c ,6x1c , an Arsenal soccer badge...

And 1954 six pence

Will definitely be returning

The sixpence should be a good indicator of more promising things to come from that spot, nice pickup. Sound like a similar spot to the one I found, 1950-60's pre-decs, and swarms of thirsty mossies.
