He is off and driving now, but I'm sure he will check in on the thread, I know he is very proud of that find. :D

Finds for today. 1877 Penny, plus junk. The 3 wedges were down about 2 ft and made the Zed go off its head. Got all excited there for a while.

This one sood out, nice and shiny and all.
funny how a 2014 coin can have 2014-2018 on it.
Myself, I think they were skimping a bit and should put a coin out for each of the years 2014 through to 2018. :D

The period encapsulated 2014 - 2018 are the years distanced by 100 ... WW1 was 1914 - 1918.
Just a bit of wishfull thinking on my part,... hoping they would put the exact same coin out with four different minting years(but the same side on the opposite),.. woulda made for nice collecting. :D

Nice photo of a real bronzed possum in its native environment.

It is great to just get out sometimes Silver, although I have also become more nostalgic about our austrailian wildlife. When asked what i am looking for, thesedays I respond 'old silver coins but all I seem to be finding are possums and frill necked lizards'

Those with a bit of wit, usually have a chuckle and if I am true to form and have collected a few, the little kids go home with a bit of bronzed australiana.

I give them away when I can as well Wally,... the kids think it's great, as they are really old Australian coins from the last century to them. :D

A lot of young ones starting up in the hobby would probably be happy with a few BB's, maybe I should start replanting them in the ground from now on, I've got enough of them. ;)
