And yesterday Daughter wanted to detect our yard for coins.
We did allright too.
All hers this time round.
1445748927_sam_3737.jpg

All decimal(70's house). ;)

And I got out this morning for a bit of practice(getting my arm ready for a detect with P305 sooner or later) for three hours. ;) :D
Well, here's the decimals.
1445749263_sam_3740.jpg

And I found a crushed earing(stud) with no stone,... but a nice cufflink that I recon is silver(that makes up for no stone,.. recon the old fella that lost the cufflink would have lamented its loss for a long time(every time he looked at the other one he still had as he was getting ready to go out).
1445749263_sam_3743.jpg

the back of it is in good condition for being in the ground so long(they don't make em like that any more).
1445749263_sam_3744.jpg

One old button.
1445749263_sam_3747.jpg

And some predecimals.
1445749263_sam_3750.jpg

And yes that penny up above has a scratch on it from me.
1917 HP.
1445749306_sam_3753.jpg

what I thought may have been a 1923 HP.
1445749306_sam_3754.jpg

But no,... it was just a 1922 HP.
1445749306_sam_3756.jpg

But at least I pulled out some silvers.
1445749350_sam_3760.jpg

Same silvers from the back.
1445749350_sam_3762.jpg

1938 6d don't look too bad.
1445749350_sam_3765.jpg

Even though it's worn, I like the 1924 shilling the most.
1445749350_sam_3766.jpg

1927 3d is allright too(it was the first target out of the ground today).Took about 4metres of nothing at all before I got a hit.
1445749378_sam_3769.jpg

1951 3d hasn't handled its time in the earth so well,... it will need a decent clean up one day.
1445749378_sam_3774.jpg

Well I felt alright after that(I was fatigueing a bit at the end though),... those two good silvers have only been washed in water,.. they came out looking nice like that(it was a nice friable sandy loam with a fair bit of humous through out it,.. fully shaded and nice damp easy digging soil). :D

You got a small crotal bell! A scrotal bell lol
There was no hair attached to it at all RKT,... so I'm not sure if it even had much use,... most probably flew off while it was still ringing though.(ha)

Nice hunt there Silver. Nice finds.

I'm hanging to get out for a swing but my back has been crook for a week, I over did it on the Sapphire trip..... :(

ya gotta take it easy on the back heatho,.. once it tells you it's sore you have to nurse it well, or you end up paying the six week penalty(out time) for sure.
My doc said for me, take 2 panadol,... then a hot shower to warm it all up, then go for a pain free walk to have the body reset the pain receptors,.. but I had cronic back pain then. It's always good to wait until the spasm pain has reduced to nil first though, that way you know you arn't likely to do yourself any further injury,... you don't want to make it worse at all, and walking gets everything moving naturaly again. :D

Nice hunt Silver, love the cuff link
Me too Wally,....was nice seeing it come out of the ground, really shallow target too(in the top inch).
Come out just like that(with dirt attached) too, only cleaned with an art brush and tap water(not even soap). :D

Sure are nice cufflinks, I clean any silver jewelery I get with soda bi-carb too, really does a great job on anything silver. Anyway I can understand if you want leave them exactly as found. :)

Some beaut finds there Silver, especially the intact cufflinks. Usually you only tend to find one half due to obvious reasons, might have been some undressing going on there. :D

Woulda been right out in the open then(ha). :D

Got out for a little while before lunch today,....And found my share of BBs.
1446363485_sam_3813.jpg

Found a few modern decimal silvers :|
1446363485_sam_3815.jpg

Found a few dollars as well :)
1446363485_sam_3818.jpg

Got three dirty old roo pennys
1446363485_sam_3820.jpg
:)
Also 2 pennys and two half pennys of the commonwealth design(not all today though) :D
1446363485_sam_3822.jpg

A clock bit and two bits off of a pair of braces(I think) that were only two feet apart :)
1446363523_sam_3824.jpg

And a nice looking bent ring(that's only a junker :( ) :D
1446363616_sam_3829.jpg

But then I had a good signal around nine inches deep,... I was gunna leave it there as I could feel the edge and thought it was a bit of pipe,.. but a bit more digging and I thought I could feel a lip for a lid(for opening some thing), and it was feeling a bit oddly rough,.. so I kept digging(it was the bottom of something I was feeling,..I would find that out a bit later),... of course I was thinking a tin of old money(ha) :)
But it turned out to be this thing below :|
the back of it.
1446363616_sam_3837.jpg

the front of it
1446363616_sam_3838.jpg

An oblique view(it's about 4 inches long)
1446363616_sam_3839.jpg

and the bottom of it.
1446363616_sam_3841.jpg

If you guessed bat mobile,... you were right on the money
wasn't the tin of money I thought it was gunna be  :( , but, a nice surprise for me any way :D
And of course I did find a Silver coin too ;)
1446363652_sam_3847.jpg

It was a pretty well worn 1914 florin(been waiting a bit for that to surface for me too) :D
1446363652_sam_3851.jpg

Now two pennys up above and a half penny were from a different hunt,.. one i went on with Phantom305,... was a good trip out,.. not much found though,.. and no it wasn't the snake pit(close to it though),... was nice and sereene in the bush checking out some new and old spots(I had a great time,..I was tired from it though). :D

I didn't see a date on it at all Paul,... but aint it a beaut,.... loved getting that out of the ground unscathed :p .
