well sniffed :)
Thanks RKT,.... I went a bit left feild of where I'd scored in the past,... thinking maybe I pulled up short because of the few trees,.. whereas in the past with no trees there at all, the targets dropped could have been further than I had previously thought and tried,... that was how my sniffing out panned out for me today.

Nice work as always Master Silver. Interesting coin spill :)
That's what I thought when I found it RJ,.... was looking forward to a sixpence with it(last of the three to come out of the hole), but alas and alack, it turned out to have only one native australian animal on it,.... even though it is a monotreme(spiney anteater) I'da much rathered a stew with a big chook,... then when I saw the 66 date on it I realised it was a bit of a marvel of a find,... and to get a 2,4,6 was pretty darned good as well.

Got out today and met up with P305 :D for a hunt,... looks like the Ace250 was the ultimate coin magnet for the hunt  ,... even though I only scored eight coins,... one was an iffy signal, but silver.
Two pennys, 1956 and 1924.

And then there was the Fathers day hunt on the way home with the family after our nice little outing. :)
2 sixpences(one is 1922) two pennys, a half penny(toasted) and a modernish token.

the penny(centre coin) is a victoria and,..... well it has a 7 in it on the date.
1441626102_sam_3049.jpg

that halfpenny was a 1923 for a while to me,... but I think it's 1928 for sure.
1441626103_sam_3054.jpg

House captain bit that must have been stuck on(but fell of a badge)
1441626103_sam_3056.jpg

and this is after CLR,....something in the soil also made them both ring up midtone too(not normal for old sixpences either).
1441626103_sam_3058.jpg

And I had a most wonderful fathers day, :D thanks to my lovely little family. ;)
Oh,.. and there was a 1c as well,... there still is but it's lying in the s bend of the laundry sink(ha)

You do get rather sore after not detecting for a while, all that kneeling, standing, kneeling, and so on, though worth it for a few pre-decs. ;)

Strange on the condition of those older sixpences, could understand maybe it if they were 50% silver. I wonder whether they might be older brass fakes, might explain the unusual tone and strange oxidation for 90% silver, or maybe the silver is just still hiding somewhere under the crud.

Though these particular coins are related to your pre-decs, it does pay to have a second look at your older coins to ensure they are bona-fide items if not looking 100% or reading correct on the detector. I couldn't believe it when I saw these - chinese fake pre-decimals silvers made of brass.

...and how about a 1930 penny to set someone up with for the find of a lifetime. ;)

I know someone who could end up finding a fake 1930 penny GP,... nice site really(ha),.... the ones I found were down around 5 inches deep in wet soil where everything else around the district is dry,.. so I'm thinking it's a bit of a natural soak area,... there was only nice green grass too, so there would be no feriliser soaking down hill and out of the ground at this spot,... otherwise the grass woild be suffering at that paticular spot,... but maybe the permanently(most of the time) wet ground has had an effect upon the coin and allowed a deposit of something in the ground water to migrate onto the coins over time.
I do have a bit of an action plan for them,...but will have to wait a bit to see how it all pans out, as I'll have to put together a bit of equipment first. ;)
