That is a little rivet by the looks of it,... so it would have been attached to something metal, I suppose.

straight out of the dirt.

Amazing how you can score just four coins in a hunt,... and all of them silver.
Made my day,.. except I was still looking for a 3d and 1 & 1/2 penny to make up a full house,.. just couldn't do it on the day.

Still cleaning up those silvers a bit more at the moment,... The seventies were good years for me,... lots of rain early on in them,... they were full of the exuberance of youth.

Those Florins won't be far off GT,... just don't walk over them and think, N A H,... and walk away just because the MD is roaring at you, and you think it must be a screw cap.(that can happen). You can sort of mentaly tune stuff out thinking it must be something else at the time.
