Awesome. How much is he charging? I was thinking of doing something like that this summer. I know there is a bloke in Sydney who charges $100 an hour with a minimum 2 hour charge.

Actually I have no idea. We started a group in Newy and it's between the detectorist and the owner of the lost item to come to an agreement. I would do it for free. :D

I've gone looking for jewellery for friends before for free a few times, though I keep thinkiing about all the cashed up people in this area and well..... Would be nice to have a little business doing what I love doing. :)

Actually a couple of months back a very well to do bloke showed me a ring that was identical to one his daughter lost, an old family heirloom with family crest, they are from a very old brittish family who can trace their family history back to the Norman conquest of Britain. He said "there would be a very handsome reward waiting if I found it and returned it". I told him that if I found it he could be assured of it's return without the reward being necessary. He was a genuinely nice bloke.

Though for most of the pretentious people in my area I'd happily accept a reward from them and even more happily write them an invoice. :D

It certainly would be, will have to get back there for another look around for it, got a few pre dec from there too so it's not just looking for the ring, plenty of other goodies to be had there too.

He had the matching ring on so I the exact TID to look for. ;)

These are not my finds. A fellow detectorist was in town for a couple of days so I aimed him in the right direction for a hunt. I'm a wee bit jealous of the " NSW League of Wheelmen" badge. Sterling silver. It came from one of my special sites.

NSW League of Wheelmen was a cycling club formed around 1900 composed of bicycle racing enthusiasts.

Wow what a top find. Bummer he beat you to it mate, his lucky day. :)

That's me being too generous as usual. :D Interesting he found the badge and coins in an area Rocket and I have both covered and retrieved nice treasure but obviously not all of it. ;) Just inspires me to go back over it all again.

Yeah for sure, top spot. Just goes to prove that no one gets it all. Goes to show that regularly visiting spots you've already done can pay off sometimes. It's easy to miss something for what ever reason.

Very generous of you to share such a good spot. That badge looks like it was dropped yesterday, wonder how long it's been in the ground.....

Oh well, good for him on the badge find, really is in great condition. I'm sure he will repay you in kind for pointing him in the right direction. :)
