If the oxygen thieves making and selling the drugs are deprived of air , they can't sell the crap any more; conseqenses for their actions.

Seems when the issue of 'drugs' is raised, we collectively lean towards the illicit drugs scene...

But what of the growing (at an alarming rate tbh) rate of Prescription abuse?....do you also deprive the ChemCo's (and by association, their 'patients') of oxygen as well?? Not every 'addict' is dressed in rags with pick marks up their arm...many are well known identities from a range of endeavors and socio-economic sectors of the community

And NO...i'm not defending the 'trade' of drugs, just shining light on an area that got overlooked.

The 'USER' is the one making a choice to feed the industry...the growers and sellers are just filling the supply chain role...were there no drug 'addicts', it may well be Fuel, or Alcohol or guava...it seems to me, each generation breeds a larger proportion of disenfranchised folks.

What we need is population control (scientific papers aside) globally....this would benefit the planet and US. Too big an issue to fix in a few posts. :(

:)

The world was mortified when China introduced the 1x child policy way back when.

In today's world, i don't see this as such a bad idea (and, as it happens, is my case ~ 1x child). The downside is the growth in abortions this policy introduces into the mix.

It has been modeled, and the planet can only cope (to the 'extreme' edge of sustainability) with approx 9-10B. However, those rates require us ALL to be 'vegetarians' and leave our omnivore habits behind, as well as develop new and 'conservative' lifestyles (read; LESS 'consumerism'...HA!, Good Luck with THAT).

2050 is the due by date to hit those numbers.

per; http://www.livescience.com/16493-people-planet-earth-support.html

and,.. http://worldpopulationhistory.org/carrying-capacity/

I believe we past the 'comfortable' or cozy size of 5 - 5.5B, so that now we are in competition with each other for survival...however, there is also a natural regression in fertility rates (Mother Nature ensuing a balance perhaps?) across the globe, resulting in a population slowing growth rate.

All that, and still no answer to the issue of thread....be good if science could develop a scanning technique to weed these mongrels out at birth.

Just my ramblings....be interesting to hear what happens to them once caught, but i won't be surprised by the limp-wristed 'Justice' they will face. :(

We need to make heroes out of those who would choose not to be genetic parents whilst on the decrease in population trail, have a new family system where six people become the parents of one child, looking out for its welfare together through life, there needs be a stronger policy than China's one child policy for the world to reduce its population to what it should really be, and that number imho should be no more than around the 500 Million mark, there would then be resources enough for all, taking pressure off society enough that a proper change in societal valuations could take place on a massive scale enabling normalcy without crime to exist as a result ,... I'm pretty sure that along that road to get there the gonads of criminals male or female would be removed asap once a judicial decision had been reached proving their guilt, and they would be removed from their position of one of six parents to a position of looking after the infirm elderly for the rest of their working life as a valuable alternative path for them to live out (forehead branded cause there's no going back), And, with a target world population reached, huge (and I mean really really huge) tracts of land would be able to be reverted to jungle once more to give proper lungs back to the Earth. ;)
What are we waiting for. :D

I've got a great idea, let's round up the criminals, even for such things as stealing a loaf of bread and then send them to a far away island with no hope of escape and errrr...... oh yeah hmmm they already did that. :)

Seriously though anyone who bashes an elderly person or does a home invasion should be locked up with 20 years hard labour or hanged or both. Scum like these don't deserve any rights at all. Maybe we could out source punishment like this to Saudi Arabia, or China, maybe we could do it here and use them as organ donors??

where in the past, the death penalty would be handed down in Australia, the same prisoner should be used for medical experiments.
Like a Guinea Pig, or Lab Rat. Where there is no doubt of guilt, and the prisoner has zero chance of being released, they should be subjected to a good use, like finding cures for cancer, diabetes, M.S etc.

Im serious though....

I think it's Singapore that canes the soles of the feet with a Bamboo Rod ! I recon all the old neighbors should have a panic button that brings the vigilantes running to them from all around the block at lightning speed ,.... a nice loud screamer alarm with spinning flashing light mounted on their roof ,..... be all over red rover by the time the cops got there, they may as well just send the meat wagon instead ! ;)
Who wouldn't come a running for something like that ,..... be worth getting fit to be the first on the scene, end up living in buff neighborhoods where vigilantees dart around in their jocks n pj's at night (or day).

That sounds like the neighborhood I live in Silver, we have a very good neighborhood watch. :D

The judicial sentencing system should reflect the opinion of the majority. The majority being mostly decent people who are sick and tired of weak custodial sentences.

My opinion of Scumbags who invade /attack a person/ home /work place (Bank) and inflict injury, fear or death be-it accidental or deliberate should receive the MAXIMUM allowable penalty once proven guilty. Any deduction from the maximum should be determined by a community panel /comity and not by a judge /parole board.

A community panel /comity guided by a legal panel where the outcome is decided by a vote not an individual academic.

All to often the academics with in the judicial system get it wrong.

Same here Magilla, people have their lives, but there when needed. ;)

My local minister just responded to a comment I sent to them..

A: They stated...

The xxxxxx have built a reputation on being tough on crime and unfortunately the xxxxx Government have repealed or replaced some of our measures we introduced in Government.

My reply was not great...

Same as the Crims, take no responsibility and blame others for their position

The problem transcends all political parties as to the causes BUT the bigger issue is that all Political parties now take the new way out. Rather than looking for a functional and working solution, you just point the finger at the last guy that was in..

Nothing will happen..

Tried to put it in perspective - they will not get it.....

If a bank got robbed of $80k or $120K or $30K the detectives would be on it And an outcry / pressure from the Banks

Just look at what happened with Brendan Abbot.

10 people get their cars stolen across a small area, in a few days over Xmas by Hijacking and Home Invasions and Theft = greater than 1 Mil dollars and NO ONE CARES.

People need the same respect as BANKS :) LOL never going to happen...

This may be part of the problem (although no stats for the last 3 years):

"Offending rates were highest for both males and females aged 1519 years. Within this age category, most violent offending peaked around 17 years of age. However, the rate of sexual assault offending by 15 year olds (64 per 100,000) was greater than that of 17 year olds (56 per 100,000)"

This seems to fit with the age group in violent gangs and house invasions that I read about.

Such a young age group for violent crimes suggests that part of the problem may be that many violent criminals are first-time (convicted) offenders in terms of serious, violent crimes. Long sentences etc probably have limited effect on people who have not yet been convicted of a crime, and violence seems to decrease with age (those already in prison might therefore be less of the problem on average). Hence my earlier comment about value systems and young people - finding a way to stop them starting would seem more effective than forever increasing the length of punishment once convicted.

Yup....Better education system and at least 3 years military service.
And maybe even some mandatory community service.

I think that would nip a lot of the problems in the bud right there.

Just an up date
Mark came home from hospital today
Can not see out of his left eye at this stage
All his face is one black swollen mess
Can not walk, sit or breath properly yet

Mark is getting cameras x 4 with 30 day recording tomorrow and i will be fitting them on sunday
This has ruined his life as he said he will never be the same again
the police are asking anyone that was on East street/princes highway cnr douglas street around 8 to 8.30 that morning to check their dash cam footage for two males dressed in black trying to run across the road nearly getting run over a few times

Liked your Post but for the Info; not the outcome...

A big thanks to "RM Outback" as due to his contacts and effort he put in etc Followed by some great assistance by DLC Locksmiths and Josh (man on the ground) My wife and I now have ALL New keys and Barrels and RE Coded for both cars...

They were able to do it ASAP and Josh was pleasant, kept me informed and even turned up a few Hrs early...

Thus to date:

A: New 10 digit keypad locks front and Rear - no more keys

C: New replacement cards are still arriving etc. Still sorting out direct debits etc.

D: 4M sliding Gate running pad put in and Now to get the Gate and Install - 10 days time

E: 4 x 2meg high res CCTV cameras via cat 5 and system with cloud storage - Next week

F: Re code both Garage door opening systems and controllers

g: New keys and Barrels and RE Coded for both cars

So yep... They got a few $ cash. Been around / back at least twice more that we know of.

It has been stressful, lack of sleep and even with all the new gear - My wife cracks if I walk outside and do not shut the door or garage or when strange noises happen. And you do not want to know what went down, when a big old Brush tail possum jumped and crashed into the Bathroom window blinds AND got caught up in the slats at 2am...

I was not sure which one to put down first... It was a laugh after; but at the time = Not funny.

I feel for Mark as I and others were not physically assaulted ( 2 others earler had GUNS used on them - not sure if teh same lot) but the Theft and Expense can be managed. It is the Emotional side and the fact that your one safe place in the world is no longer safe.... That is what hurts the most.

7.62marksman I take my hat off to You for putting your self out there and assisting a neighbour ... Same as like RM Outback; I am sure it is because of the type of people you are and not for what you can get out of it.... Not for $ or FB Likes but because you can and want to...

Thanks to both of you guys and ALL the Others; that have stepped up for others in a time of need.

AM i cant say i know how you or mark or anyone else feels as the worst i have had was the front door kicked off when i was at work but as a young boy my adopted parents tought me the old saying do unto others as you would expect them to do to you and yes i do things for free why should anyone that has had this sort of treatment be expected to pay for something that was not their fault or doing
I am a jack of all trades and master of only one so when or if i can help i will
PS dont have facebook dont like it one little bit the only place i use is this forum
It should be any expence after something like this should fall under victoms of crime my son got king hit in sydney one night ended up with plates and screws in his face he was offered money (he said no he didnt want it) for a punch why when what is happening to you and others get nothing except advice it just not right

Yes but 7.62mm Nato is 308 Win not 303 British. I digress, lets get back to the topic at hand.

A bit of National service would do wonders, just look at Israel. Nice people. I have a lot of time for them. Spent 6 months in the Sinai in the mid 80's. Learnt a lot. :cool

Cheers

Doug
