Gentle reader, I bring to you a tale so horrible it grieves me to utter the words.
I've been out for a few swings, nothing special to report from those, but yesterday was different.
Firstly I went to the beach with the daughter, 4 hours yielded a sensible $6.00, the beach was remarkably clean and I was pulling rusty 50c pieces from about a foot down. The sun was shining and it was a nice day.
Last night, I felt dissatisfied with what I had found. I knew I had to visit the park of endless money to ease these feelings. I went out at 8:50pm, as the lights are turned off at 9:00, leaving me undisturbed in the dark.
I wandered around the park, found $4 in one spill, and a large badge, working my way towards a tree near the road. I was cold, it was dark and I hadn't found so much after a couple of hours. Everything was as it should be. The next hit I found a trinket. I didn't know it was a skull, unknowingly I stashed it with everything else I had found.
Finally I come to the tree. The detector starts going crazy, everywhere I swing its 28,30,32,34. I start popping out the targets and its all money. I was stuck there for hours pulling coins out of the ground. Some of the coins were sitting on the surface, I'd find a target and see a $2 sitting on the ground next to it, pick it up and pop more money. It got to the stage where my arms were killing and I couldn't bend over any more, but the park was relentless in its offerings. I went over the same area 3 times, continually pulling out more and more money. Finally, I had to give in. The park had beaten me - I couldn't pop any more money out of the ground It was 1:00am and I was exhausted. I walked away from what I know was more money waiting to be picked up. All up I found $50 and some change.
Be careful out there guys. This could happen to anyone.
