He cooked the motor, this was after we put it back on its wheel so it could get towed of the beach.

During the 80's I had an old Corolla wagon and I'd follow the multitude of sand tracks north of Perth to beaches like Whitfords, Mullaloo and Ocean Reef. The kids would spend hours fishing or snorkeling. Up and down those sand dunes there were Black Boys three and four metres high, massive big multi-branch trees that were bigger than I'd ever seen before. I've got a photo somewhere of my HJ75 LandCruiser parked under a Black Boy branch that reached right across to the other side. They must have been many hundreds of years old.
Around that time they started putting log and rock barriers on the tracks and big No Entry signs threatening fines. I thought they must have been doing it for conservation reasons so even though we still found access to the beaches we made sure to stick to well worn tracks. Another five or six years down the track and the whole area was bulldozed flat. The sand dunes were gone, the beautiful natural bushland was gone and in its place allotments for sale. Now it's a concrete jungle.

The report calls it an abandoned car but has anybody checked? We see plenty of cars abandoned or burned out up and down the highways. Surely the insurance companies are responsible for the cleanup if the vehicles were insured.

I remember those days Phil, the track behind the sailing club at Ocean Reef, they did have a contractor remove a lot of those black boys for resale.
Now more commonly known as Grass Trees to be politically correct.
Watching the news tonight, they say Australia will have 1.5 million OBESE kids by 2050. I beg to differ, they are here now in the present. 3.05pm after parent pick up, into Mc’s for crap. Lunch was a large snitty and salad $10 at the school canteen ( what kid needs so much food at lunch) and then the solution to the fat kids is the gov’t to supply meals at ALL schools throughout Oz. Why? Thefault is with parents not providing essential basics, food, advise and healthy eating guidelines. Rant over.
