Cheers GP, it looks very nice, made my day actually, especially after stepping in dog crap. :) My earlier comments were meant to be a bit tongue in cheek.

Quick hunt today, only about 40 mins. Still hungover from Saturday night/Sunday mornings drinking session with some mates. Detecting in the sun brought it all back again. Even a sixpence didn't make feel any better. :( Straight and narrow something something, gotta look that up sometime, I know there is something to it that eludes me......

With all the silver jewellery showing up lately I think the gold soon follow :)

I sure hope so, even an ounce of gold wouldn't have helped me today though. Whether it's you or me that finds it, either way I'll be happy. :D

Turned up to the old honey hole vtoday and there was kids sports right on the spot I was doing so I hit another area of the same park.

Scored a bit over $20, an American 1972 half dollar which is not silver, I thought it was at first, oh well. Then got another zodiac pendant, have found quite a few here, must be the fourth or firth one of them. Also scored a 1931 shilling. All in all a decent hunt for about 3 hours.

Nice hunt, hopefully those loose pocketed kids are throwing more golden confetti around for you :)

Damn I hope so, lol. Wish their parents would give them gold rings and sovereigns to play with while at sports. :)

I like your half dollar, even if it isn't silver - something different. :)

Cheers GP, I was very surprised to find it, it was actually sunbaking, might have been someones lucky coin or something, not sure if it's a recent drop or not as it's a bit dirty.

Cheers Rocket, I hadn't looked into that yet, though I knew by 1971 they weren't silver. It gave a very high signal like silver would though. Anyway still a cool find for the treasure chest.

Nice surprise find Heath

Looks like to top edge had a ring soldered onto it - birthdate souvenir perhaps

It does look like it in the photo, but once you have a closer look it'actually looks like a mower strike otr some other type of damage, the coin is actually slightly bent. :( All the good coins I find have a run in with a mower, just like that mule lol.
