I was surprised that nothing older has come up.

If I could only lift up the sandstone seating and check in the cracks.

I read that they revamped it in the early 1900's and created a motor bike track.

Last race was in 1931.

Still early days, I'm sure something older will turn up.

G'day All,

Race track take two.

$28.10 in spendables.

20 predecimals (9 silver)

3 different pins (the small circle one has Frankston on the back)

Usual copper bits and pieces.

Not a bad day.

Hope the silver keeps coming.

Until next time.

Another productive day at your racecourse spot, would love a spot like that to work continually. That area looks to have a good supply of silvers, keep em coming! :)

Thanks guys.

Have only spent about 5 hours there in total.

Still waiting for a coin from the 1800's to pop up.

They must be deeper, might have to try the 17" when I'm done.

G'day Treasureman,

Deepest coin was a gothic florin at 35cm

Generally all of my finds are between 17-27cm

I will have to give the 17" a crack and see if there is anything deeper.

Cheers

35cm is quite deep.
my at gold couldnt ping that. But my f75 ltd is in its way. With any luck there are some nice florins a bit deeper that i missed
the ctx3030 looks like a good machine

Mate, I couldn't be happier with it.

Can you adjust your settings on your AT?

The good thing about the CTX, is the freedom of changing settings to get a better result. Every parks soil is different and you constantly need to fiddle around to get the best depth.

You can use standard settings but they will only get you so far.

You just have to be patient and know what you are targeting.

Nice easy swings.

We have group hunts once a month and some swings I've seen make Randy Savage look good.

The next day I go back and pick up what they have missed.

Also, if someone tells you that they have found predecimals in a park that they have flogged to death, check it out yourself as I'm sure if you are thorough more coins will turn up.

G'day All,

Back to the race track for a third attempt.

This time I decided to use the 17" coil

$19.90 in spendables

35 predecimals (9 silver)

Dinky Tempest II Spitfire

Finds of the day are 2 x 1924 George V half pennies

1897 Sixpence and 1873 English Penny

The 2 older coins were found by behind the sandstone seating.

If I could just move the seating, there are tons of signals underneath

Until next time
