8" is still my fav coil, (although haven't used it for a while) I have a few bits that don't register on the scale, gotta lick your finger to pick them up. Hopefully you walk over a big one soon, I'm still trying :/
Yea its a ripper. There's a few areas I want to detect but the ground is way too hot for the 8". Tried everything settings wise without a great deal of improvement. The only other issue is ground coverage. The reason I want to detect this area is due to the high mineralization and its right below a reef that the old timers cleaned out. After digging 30 ground noises that sounded like legit targets with the 8" I walked away using some colourful language haha.
Hope you get that monster Nug as well mate
Thanks guys. Can't wait to get out with the 14" nf I'm picking up tomora. Hopefully get out in the next week or two.
I can't wait for the pics dig it. Hopes its a biggen.
See if you can set up a 'Natural terrain' race day out where you found your pieces mate, 50 odd fellows ripping it up on metezler MC5 for a few hours should open up some new ground for you
Haha that's gold mate. I'll get the boys from the club out there doing the digging for me on their bikes. I'll bring you out there for slipping me such a great idea and we'll clean the joint out.
Haha gold!
The 2300 mate. Love it and also getting gold each trip, 15 on saturday and 13 yesterday. All small but love the chase. I'd just really like a machine that i would feel confident going over slightly deeper ground with.
Awesome. Good stuff mate, sounds like your cleaning up. I reckon everything has to be ideal to get those tiny bits like that .04 with the 45. But the SDC seems to clean them up no worries at all. Probably at better depth as well? Are you finding them on heaps or near heaps or in somewhat fresh ground?
I'm hanging to punch a bit deeper the 14" and cover some ground.
Most are coming off surfaced ground, then off mounds and maybe 15/20 percent from the sides of surfaced areas. The 2300 is getting signals down around 250/300 mm or so but thats mostly on bigger targets. On clean ground with no leaf litter etc its picking up small specks down to around 100/150mm quite regularly. It's a great machine, i'd just like the option to head over slightly deeper ground where i reckon there are some bigger nuggets waiting with my name on them.
