How can I get phone service in outback WA

Spacetek are doing 12v conversion for the starlink gear. FWIW, I run mine off a cheap 300w inverter through my second battery and turn it off when not in use. I think it used about 3-4w when running from memory. I will get around to converting it to 12v one day I suppose

    So easy to get lost

Yes and my Iphone for additional support but mainly for Trilobite. I carry hard copy maps but they rarely get used these days, it would be quite rare for both GPS units to fail. I use a basic 3 pocket back pack, nothing special but allows me to carry plenty of water and some additional...

Corunna Down, WW2 base outside Marble Bar is worth a look if your in the area. Nullagine is good for a look around but unsure how much pending ground is around there these days

I replace the batteries in my both of my GPS units everyday and always mark where I have parked as base. Also carry home made survival kit, compass, whistle, fire starter, PLB etc etc Was in the Murchison earlier this year and you couldnt see the car after walking 30m thru the scrub. It was easy...

Newb - What to find in the Wheatbelt, WA

You might do ok in that area relic hunting. I think there were a couple of prospector tracks on the goldfields road back to Kellerberrin and further east. An older local might be able to point you in the right sort of direction

    Goldfield History

I did a tour at Sovereign Hill Museum in Ballarat that showed the Nugget and the conditions that the miners worked in. The Gold pour and lolly making were highlights. Can recommend a visit if anyone is ever in Ballarat.

    GPX6000 aftermarket shaft

Being a bit taller than the average bear I installed something similar from Try Hard prospecting bought from my local supplier here in WA. Older style involved cutting the ML screw fittings on the shaft off, very big mistake! Worked ok with the coils supplied by minelab but really suffered...

    Plot track to Trilobite?

Is that so you can travel to another lease/pending ground over an existing prospecting or mining lease?

    WA tenements

Maybe sign up to a Little ripper Gold membership mate. It is a group here in WA that buys it own leases for members to utilise. The leases can be pretty well flogged but there usually some pending ground nearby that cancels this out. Membership is about 100 a year which is dirt cheap in my...

I sat at some traffic lights today behind a person who didnt believe they were allowed to turn right because the green arrow wasnt displayed, they had no idea of the give way to the right rule here in WA People that sit at the entry to a roundabout and treat it like a stop sign and stay there...

5000 or 6000 for Vic goldfields?

Gday all, Further to my last post about detecting in the Bendigo area. The planning and getting stuff ready is getting into full swing (no pun intended) I have a 5000 & 6000 and enjoy using both and appreciate that they both have their strengths and weaknesses but I might not have the luxury of...
