It could have been used for opium I suppose,...definitely hand carved,.. I'm not sure what the CH stands for,.. and I never found the other end piece of it, maybe there was a bigger measuring spoon on the other end(and I should also take care of my relics better).

Apothecary spoon is my pick, interesting bit of history, but with added bonus of being silver. Maybe I should take care of some of my relics a bit better, and store them away properly. :)

Hint......Used to put something sweet into tea

Now you have a reason to get back out there and find the other half

Now I'm pretty sure I've got my next hunt pretty well sorted thank you Wally(sweet picky),...it's a wonder I couldn't smell the other half of that still just lying thereabouts(although I'm sure it was about 6-8 inches down),...Impressed by your resourceful ability to research as well Wally !

Thanks for posting some interesting finds. I love the old stuff Silver, you might need to unwrap some more finds to keep me entertained.

And the end bit for the stamping(if that's what it is)Robert,...when I first dug that piece I remember thinking it was a piece of copper pipe, but when I saw the pattern on the pipe I went strait into careful retrieval mode(luckily).

Frogger, I can imagine the kids playing with a full set of lead soldiers,..he was the only digger I found at that spot,..I'm just waiting to come across a full set one day, just left in the grass after a play and still on patrol waiting for me to find them all at the one time.

The digger and soldier... Good stuff!

Been a while since I posted anything on here at all, so I had a look and found a bag, these were all found in an area about 1 metre wide and 4 metres long a fair few years ago now, all I can think is that someone threw them from the car park next door when they had a coin fair there once.
Someone obviously thought they wern't worth keeping once they found out what they were worth.
Heres the bag.

I remember finding them all and thinking wow, I should check again, as techniques change for the better over the years ! :D
Is that an old watch AR ?

Certainly is silver, I thought it was a sink plug all this time until spotting yours on page one. Came from the same location as the loupe. Its got a copper backing but the front hinge missing, ill clean it and see if I can get a makers mark, date etc

At least I found an old sniffer ,... I thought it had been thrown out from the boot of the car in a clean up one time(Whew). :8 :p
1462443756_sam_7526.jpg

It's been cleaned, but I can still smell it a bit, it'll have to do for now ,... I can still smell it a bit. I know I could use any new found silver coin, but, the larger the coin the bigger the smell. ;) :D
