There's one way to test it, make sure it is the fertility totem, butt your not gunna enjoy it 8) jokes aside, I wonder if it could be a concrete, lots of little stones in it, a conglomerate?

these are some iron stone meteorite that looks similar, similar dark glossy shine, and again speckly stone look

Interesting. Make an electro magnet or rip open an old hard drive to get a magnet and test it on the rock. It does look similar to the meteorite photos, but im also more leaning towards slag as well.

File or break off a little corner to expose whats inside if your not too worried about damaging it a little.

It would be very heavy for its size if its from outer earth as well.
 
106 grams which is quite heavy for its size. Other slag I've found has been pretty light in comparison
 
ok.. so its not magnetic. but that doesnt rule it out not being a meteorite. Lunar Meteorites are not magnetic and look like this.. which looks similar to what ive found.

any idea on how to cut and polish it? and do you mean give the gubmint a sample as in a small piece of it?
 
Best bet (depending on your state) is to get a uni or museum to check it out, if it is, they'll take a sample and in the process slice it for you.

If found in WA or SA, then it's not yours, it belongs to Oz.

You need permits and stuff to export.

Not convinced it is, but you never know :)

last night i wanted to confirm what reading my metal detector was giving for the stone/meteorite in question. target ID is solid 85,
definitely not lead, hmmm
