the old green patina ring turned out to be a gold ring! from a long time ago i imagine. i found it under a tree inlet not much room to work with but got a 77 signal and decided to dig it. at first thought it was a copper loop or something and almost left it until i looked closer. I wonder how old this ring is? Any ideas? Going on the green patina id lean towards early 1800's? along with the similarly aged metals found close by. This seemed to be a early settler area. tree chopping, living out in the bush say 1850 and earlier.

What year is that gold coin in the bottle beneath your great navy button TM, ....looks a lot like two rings to me(you be a two ring hunter now)

Hope it is gold Treasureman and if it has a stamp on the inside saying so happy days ... It has a copperish colour to it and could be plated - I have had several disappointments over the year with what I initially thought was gold ended up being gold plated. You are certainly unearthing some old goodies and thanks for posting as we all find the finds fun to look at.

Silver the dollar coin is a 1996 commerative coin. found in the same hole with some lead sinkers.

maybe it is copper and gold plated? cant find any stamps. it is quite weighty for how thin it is. Would have to be 1800's wouldnt it?

Yes they do. Happened an hour ago in the bush lucky could use the detector as a walking stick back through the obstacles. Yippee. Locks a knee up with pain

My knee. I was squating down digging up somethibg when i dug and jerked my knee which oushed it out. Feeling it lock up i instantly straightened my leg knowing if it locks up too much i wouldnt be able to make it back. Knowing i was in a bit of a situation out in the sticks i had to gather every ounce of persaverance and hobble back to the car through branches, up and down slopes. Thought this had to happen to me and on 11/11 of all dates. Im hopibg its not too bad as i want to get bsck out there. But my knee is locked

I think it is australian duck. Stokes and sons. Which is on another button thats reads melbourne.
Reads: stokes and sons melb, duck.

TM, you could ask your doctor if he can give you a referral for physio for your knee,...if he can do that I think medicare then covers some of the visits(up to 4 specialist visits) for a certain amount(not all of it). Happens for my missus but then she is a diabetic and maybe that makes a difference for her as it is an ongoing medical situation for her(long term).

Decided to check the molasses mix this morning
There was one item heavily rusted, like one big heavy ball. Its been 2 weeks in there with no relief. So i decided to dolly it up, and crack it opened.
What do you think it is a big bullet? its in almost preserved condition under all that, and opened like a boiled egg once getting the hammer on it.

And some other unknown rusted (now cleaned items).

Found this today. Not too sure what it is. The tiny word on the side says metal.
The cap comes off and is hollow inside. Quite thin. Definitely not a bullet. Found in the bush.

A hat cord end, looks like it is from the Canadian mounted police.......or scouts???? Might be worth checking if it is US military

Or could be a light switch cord end for early ceiling mounted switch

Also looks like those plastic things that keep a rose flower alive until someone buys it and takes it home,....Was it found in a romantical spot at all ? Maybe it was a romantic spot way back in the past sometime, when those things were made in Australia out of METAL(ha).

I know things your talking about silver. But i think wally is right with the hat cord end. Such a tiny thing. Why bother printing metal on it lol.
Miracle. My knee came good. But ever so careful now when crouching to dig.
Ive had physio in the past as it did happen many years ago but much much worse.
Make sure to do ur stretches before and after detecting from now on haha
