It's not easy to know sometimes if it has happened in the mint or after,...I havn't seen one like that b4.

Looks like a cut? I placed a 1 cent piece over the mark and its spot on the diametre of a one cent piece. If you look closely you can see it runs over the lettering...hmmm

What a day it was. After deciding to go back to one of my first spots using detector on full sensitivity i got pucky. A floren, my first ever! A cool button with stars, an old pocket knife, belt buckles, i decided to call it a day. Thrilling experuence after gettibg a solid 91 reading and pullibg out my first silver coin woohoo. My first find was the button with stars and afterwards i checked the area fully and found the floren, right near where i had been months ago. Now to do all those areas again on full sensitivity. Wonder what elae awaits.

whew,.. at last Treasure man,.....AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,..... SILVER,.... so well done, and a Florin as a firsty too.

Love the Florin mate, a great silver to start out on for sure. Should clean up well with a bit of bi-carb. :)

Thanks guys. I put the florin in lemon juice. It made it have all this black stuff scattered all over the coin which is hard to get off. Any suggestions with scratchibg the coin? Bicarb instead ? Today

You scratched a whole in that 42 sixpence treasureman,.... be careful with those silvers.
Look through all our old threads to find the secrets of cleaning up your silvers.

Unfortunately the six pence already had the hole in it Silver. I got some bicarb wow blitzed it. Came up mint!

Well they are all 925 silver, is it a bit of copper toning,.. may have been copper coins in the ground next to where you dug them up,... or that lemon juice first up may have shone up the copper content for you.

I just realised possibly a bush fire some time ago may have scorched some coins closer to the surface. Or on top at the time.
