Nothing like charcoal for cooking steaks - most gas BBQ's are nowhere hot enough to properly cook a steak.

I agree with that DrDuck, I like to get my cast iron fry pan smoking hot inside to cook my steaks. My gas BBQ would not even get close to the same temp.

Nothing beats fire cooked food. It just adds that extra level of flavour.

Unfortunately Mrs Chimpy's cooking leaves a bit to be desired (flavour, no burnt bits, etc.... 8.( )
Fortunately my 2 mates and I worked far offshore for long periods and learned to fend for ourselves as far a feed is concerned.
