Fresh out of the ground, aint that a ripper,...I'm just about to head out now to catch the tide and beat the old fellas(ha) to the goodies.

1915 penny in excellent/crap condition. It was extremely corroded, so with nothing to lose, I hit it with a comprehensive session of electrolysis. Turned out quite good in the end. Needless to say, it would have been a fantastic coin if not for the corrosion.

You said oldest forum's coin, you didn't mention about finding it in Australia...
Let's be soft, it is not my oldest found coin, but this one is more picturesque and still recall when I found it like it was yesterday (cos' it was the first of its type).
Obol from Massalia, around 100BC, 0.9g (yes it is VERY small).

Nice coin. Yes GP If you read the first post the rules state coins must be found in Australia.

You guys are flying through the years. I'm out now as my oldest coin is 1917. I do have older coins but not found with my detector.

Impressive collection of silvers silver. Any idea how many you have total?

Whose counting RJ ?(ha)

Can't Joe, sent one to RJ in mail(postie slow,...or postie worse).

Did you put a stamp on it? If not we could be here waiting a while :) I've got the next one - hit with pick

Yep, stamped and addressed. I am hoping that the Christmas post is slow, if I have to resend new ones, I will register the mail, that should help the cause. I hope Mrs Silver understands why I need to go detecting again and again (ha).
That's 5 and 7 days in the post respectively for 2 parcels, but at this time of the year, post is usually slow, so hopefully all is well with Aussie Post.

Me too, all will be well. If not I will make it well anyway. So no worrying, the milk is not spilt yet.

Finishing off our Aussie coins 1910.
