I can finally get my 1854 1 PFENNING in.
Really proud of this find, I dug it out of a friends front yard in Walkerville, Adelaide.
I have found a number of pre dec coins in his yard, more than him and he has a Minelabs 705 now too.
He wanted to see what was in his yard.
This is my earliest coin, and my next one is 1908 Half Penny, also found in his yard.

1854 was a pretty interesting year.
The SS Gothenberg sunk just South of Townsville on its way from Darwin to Adelaide.(Cyclone)
There were 22 survivors, but about 200 perished.
This was the year the Gold Rush hit the NT. And among its cargo was 97 kilos (3000 oz) of gold as well as a chest that the French diplomat had on board, containing @3000 of gold sovereigns.
Pretty sure that none of the gold was recovered.
