Well it's Murphys Law, we are sitting at home after having Lorraine's surgery was cancelled this morning, the surgeon made a hasty visit to apologise as he was rushing to an emergency surgery on.a patient who has a brain haemorrhage . I feel for the patient next door, he was prepped and just being wheeled down to theatre, only to be cancelled as well. Whilst we are disappointed our thoughts are with the emergency patient and hope he pulls through.
Our turn will come.

My back surgeon has told me it's all (3 lumbar fusions) or nothing (and then take some cement), so am going with the nothing atm.
Was fitted with a back brace today, so I'll see how that goes.
The damn orthopedic lady called it a corsete.

My brother had a fused back, worked pretty well for him, sadly other s...t got him in the end. I'll make no mention of a c.s..t. Good luck with the brace, hope it gives some relief.
I must say the wife took all in her stride yesterday, no tears, no angst, she was more concerned for the emergency patient. I reckon she'll get a little antsy if there are too many more delays

Lorraine, confirmed for surgery 7.00am 8th August, the stars are starting to re-align. Early start will help to calm the nerves but it could be a sleepless night. Nine days to go!

Take two, the wife is now admitted to hospital ready for DBS surgery first thing tomorrow morning. I'm sure it will be a sleepless night and we are just hoping there will be no more delays and last minute cancellations.
I think tomorrow will be a long day and hopefully the start of new beginnings, we have total faith in the medical team and the nursing care she will receive.
