The saying "you never get it all" always rings true, I'm still going over old ground and manage to pull out some good coins as well. You do tend to concentrate that little bit harder each visit, knowing that most of the more obvious finds have already been picked up. The pocket watch cover isn't off one of the watches that you have already found - you never know? ;)

The watch cover came from a portion of this spot I had no been over previously. There are still areas we haven't covered so should be more goodies there.

There should be plenty more there if you haven't covered it, hope so anyway. Great vid, was excellent. Goes to show how much junk we remove. I wonder how much everyone on the whole forum would remove every year, would be quite a lot I think.

Thanks Heath. Will definately be going back for more. Obviously under the big trees is where the biggest concentration of finds is coming from. But until we do the whole area..... several times, we are not done. Yes the trash from every detectorist would be in the tonnes I reckon. Remember that is the best of my trash. Haven't shown the bottle tops, cans etc etc yet.

Beach hunt with Rocket this arvo. We have been a couple of other times for 2 or 4 coins each. Feel like a complete newb. It's such a different environment. If a coin is dropped in a park or field it stays there until I dig it up. At the beach everything is constantly moving. I do like when ya find a little patch though. Only 4 coins in today's patch and all deepish. 20 to 30 cm. Very quiet and ID numbers mean nothing at that depth for the Pro. All rang up low 40 with a mid tone and occasional high tone.

"at the beach everything is constantly moving"..

I'm going to yoink that mate and store it in my brain box if you don't mind :D

A couple o finds at least! Kinda makes me feel better about my beach hunting attempts...I found it soo hard and I gridded every inch I cpuld get between crowds at a full popular beach! For foil!!

Only good thing about the beach is the scenery and easy digging, I reckon they suck well mine do anyway

And you can dig without worrying about the holes after you refill them.

I cave in any deep holes I make. Don't want any little kid breaking his ankle. I do see huge excavations left by kids though.

They get dragged out onto the driveway every once in a while and I get to crank them over..or pull start..

Ill take a vid next time and get the lil one going so you can hear it putt-putt-miss :D we have an annual event called the Crank Up! where I take this one and my Mamod steam engine display too which gets the old boys laughing and intrigued like a child in a lolly shop the first time. I've seen 80 year olds turn 6 when it comes to the Mamods.

Most Australian and English engines you can think of bare at the crank up. My favorites the 3 traction engines which do laps around the main street all day when the event is on. Lots of steam, lots of clanging and chainsaws, smell of exhaust... its like the summernats of late 1800s :D

We've gone a bit OT here but I hope the mods won't mind ;)
We have a couple of events that would interest you. Steamfest started as a steam train event but has grown into a massive event for all things old. I love walking around looking at the machinery and talking to the owners about how they found and resurrected the old pieces they have. The "Rally Ground" is the place for you. :D There is an old steam bus that gives rides around the place.

The other is the Cranky handle rally which is no trains but lots of engines and equipment. Pics from last years event.

It is tough, but you have to be prepared to dig some of those deep iffy targets that may actually fall towards the iron range, something you would usually ignore. Surprisingly I've had deep $2 coins ring up as iron due to being way outside the effective range of the detector, yet still being an audible and repeatable target.

Really need to have a few decent storms to eat away at the deep sand, and provide a few cuts or underlying rocks or clay base to explore.
