Well I kicked off my 2016 account in fine style. A silver Pocket watch! Rocket and I got to test drive an XP deus for a couple of hours thanks Clegy

My first coin of the year was $2 with the At pro before we met up with Clegy.

When we started using the Dues I went back to the car for my camera. When I returned Rocket said, "Dig here". BOOM silver pocket watch. So it was a team effort. We were determined not to leave until we had dug a pre decimal coin and eventually we got a nice 1912 penny. It was mostly ground we have been over several times so pickin's were slim.

LIGHT??? Almost threw it over my shoulder. It's like just a detector shaft with nothing attached.
Can swing it so fast too. I love the technology of it. So many settings and options that anyone should be able to set it up just how they like.

The watch was only about 2 inches down and not in thesame place we had been before.

Rocket found a silver watch chain a little while ago and the object at top left of the 'relics' pic is one side of a pair of glasses... a monocle.

Met up with Sandta at Clegy's Deus Dayz this morning. SinHof also showed up and we spent a minute or 3 having a chat then Sandta and I hit Newy beach for a couple of hours. Really only my 2nd proper beach hunt and I'm happy with the results. I was slowly picking up the odd coin and trash until I found myself a nice little patch of about a dozen coins or so plus my first ring for 2016 and my first beach ring which has the 925 stamp. WooHoo. I found another ring a little further away but it's a junker. The ring on the left is the silver one.

I usually run the At Pro wide open apart from 35 on the iron discrimination. Today I had no discrim at all and I would have missed a lot of small targets including the 5 cents and rings if I'd had it on.

To finish the day nicely, as we came off the beach 2 lovely ladies gave us a free sample of frozen yoghurt. It was much appreciated. I'm liking this beach gig.
