Met up with Rocket and LonelySilver for a detecting session today. I scored a bucket list item... a complete toy gun. The Texan Junior is in great condition. Very happy with that find. :D
Just the one Silver today but it's a florin so another reason to smile. :) The coin in the pic with it is the size of a Penny but seems a little thicker. Very heavily encrusted. Ideas on how to clean it? Probably is a Penny I guess.

Any clues on the item in the last pic? It's very heavy and some kind of brass I think. My bag was the heaviest it's ever been with lots of heavy item and plenty of trash.

Is the Hammer broke,....?????? maybe(I'm blind tonight).
Is that penny thicker than a normal one ? some one will know what date the old thick ones start going backwards from,... when coins used to be real coins(big, and thick), I found one once(once only) and killed it with lime juice(bugga),.. treat it gently RJ,.. that's my only advice for you tonight. ;)

On our holidays so we decided to travel to Clermont so I could have a swing in the local gold fields. On the way we stopped in at a tiny pub for the night's free camping and as is always the case I pulled out the Trusty AT Pro. I hadn't walked 5 paces and a $1 coin saw the light of day and not too far on I was astounded to dig up a Stewart & Hemment One Penny Trade Token from circa 1863. I am stoked. Hope you like the picky as much as I like the little token. This is a photo of one like the one I found.

Top hunt Ramjet, congrats on the cap gun, all I seem to find are various parts from them. I am guessing the "large" penny is an early to mid 1800's one (pre 1860), it should have a diameter of 34mm and about 3mm in thickness. :)

Yet another Florin!

Wait until you pull an intact one from the ground GP,.... gets you all goosey feeling,... next one to touch it after the big battle,... nothing like it. ;)
