Hi All,

I thought i read in a post recently a video about extracting gold from electronic equipment, but I can't seem to find it any help would be appreciated.

Cheers :)

There's heaps of utube videos on the subject. You will probably find out as I did that they are all just a practical "how to do" type of video. Unfortunately the economics of the method are a no go. Although, there is a lot of research being conducted into this area at universities . And there is a large recycling private company that is recycling a lot of this type of stuff in Western Melbourne.

It's the kind of thing where if you have to ask about it it's not for you.
Don't expect to make money off it.

So many nasty chemicals that will kill you if handled improperly

Yeh there's some tin capped transistors that have extreme chemicals in them. It's not an area you should experiment in without good prior knowledge.
Some friends that work at the local tip get their wages paid for by the recycling and 2nd hand shop that they do. It works out rather good for example I had a 50 mtr roll of 25mm garden pipe that I tried to drain a dam with. I couldn't get the amount of fall that I needed over 50 mtrs so had the pipe just sitting around. At the tip someone had just dumped a heap of star pickets which I wanted so did a mates rates swap, star pickets for poly pipe. I got the star pickets and the $50 worth of poly pipe sold for probably $5-$10 and paid my friends wages. Sadly in Wa the councils are turning towards skip bins being delivered to households for a yearly cleanup, with no recycling.

Hi I am looking for others in Ipswich / Brisbane area who are interested in the gold hunt to go out searching with.have a minelab gpx 4000 detector, and a 4x4 would be happy to find some other people to team up with. Jason
