Hey RJ....had a mate who drove trains, worked for VicRail back in the 90's doing mainly country runs.

He ended up an emotional wreck after 3 track suicides in a week i think it was.

Had to get counseling etc.

Anything like this happen to you?

I have been very lucky Meta. Plenty of near misses but no fatalities. They used to say that on average a driver will kill 2 people in their career. I know some who have had 6 or more. Some can never drive again after an incident.
I have had derailments but only at low speed and only once my fault :8
