Today I found an 1884 penny and a half penny that I wasn't sure if it was 1853 or 1883, but looking at images of both coins on the net the '53 has the date under the head on the front and the '83 has it on the back at the bottom, so it is '53 as the date's on the front and it is much thicker than the penny so I reckon your coin is 1854 going by my one.

Definitely a great site Sandta, cricket buckle parts and all. The larger penny is the same as the Victorian one I found the other day, 34mm coin vs 31mm, and should be from between 1839-1860. 1860 was when they changed from copper to bronze coins. :)

When i woke up this morning , i was expecting it to be raining....
But it wasnt :D
So i hit the park down the road for a couple of hours before work this arvo

Bloody ell Santa,

The park being "down" the road I would have thought you would have already hoovered it all up but you still come up with the goodies!!! :) :) :)

Mike. ;)

The half penny has to be 1844 or 1854, if your sure it is a 4 last number. '64 is on the back and '34 isn't Victoria.

G'Day Sandta,
Mate you're really into the old stuff and some decimal goldies to pay for detecting fuel, great to see. Thursday, we are off to see if we can dig up a little more of the yellow stuff and give the 3030 a run over some of the old miners camps that we have located, could be interesting; hoping we don't get rained-out again like last trip.
Night detecting in temps of minus one and two degrees, looks like it could make life interesting or at least rather fresh.
Cheers, SinHof.

Back to the old site again today
Dig everything
The first part is where the majority of these bloody things have been

I persevered for a while , thinking when i get rid of them all ,will be able to get to any deeper targets
I really do hope there are some deeper targets because it wasnt much fun only finding these things.
So i finally got sick of it and moved to the second area
The results were a little better but was tough going in the long thick tuft grass

Poor old cricket buckle, I wish it was in better condition as it would have excellent to find complete. The half penny looks good though, fared better than many of the copper coins you found at that location.

Lead does sound good, gives off a nice mellow tone, and being round doesn't help either.

The other copper parts with the holes in them are probably from old timer boots, find a fair few of those around here. :)

Awesome finds....coins, relics....you're on a roll, and have some great sites to hunt. Congrats.
