That coin was certainly an odd find
Sometimes the strangest things turn up in the most unlikely places

That lock is unreal I think it deserves find of the month, It should be totally brass? It would be worth talking to your local locksmith to see if it could be serviced.
It may have been an old rail building lock.

Apparently the circular Y&T logo was die cast and removable, vs the rest of the lock being brass. This was to allow other companies to attach their own logos to the lock.

I got out for a short hunt this arvo...
this rotten weather kept me in all day.
In the end i just bit the bullet, and got soaked for my effort
But i was rewarded too

1923 commonwealth penny
1947 roo penny
Brittania penny and half penny that i cant read the date on
An unexpected British 10 pence
1943 threepence

I got another pretty cool,unexpected find....
Had no idea what it was till i got home and cleaned it
Nice surprise

It is cast brass and probably an ashtray

No threaded holes ... not sure its a door handle/knob

Pretty cool relic Sandta, don't know whether he'd like to have ash flicked in his face. You don't see too many 10 Pence coins coming from the ground, even if it is modern.

Found with some of the other coins, directly under a nice big branch for swinging on

Got this nice prize from todays hunt

I also got a 1940 penny , $1 coin and a few BB's
But, as i was playing 'pied piper' to a couple of kids , i donated them to my pinpointer operator and digger

A different date for a change on the Florin, seems that .925 florins are almost becoming rarity these days for detectorists.
