thanks Sandta, i was pretty happy when i realized it was a older penny and not a roo, it was the 1st target then $2, 50c, lots of crap, few more coins followed by more crap!.
i haven't been out bugger all lately so im very happy to get another 2 coins crossed off the list, i will be wanting to find the "cartwheel" type penny next, fingers crossed.

yeah i did put it in olive oil for a few hours to soften the dirt then very lightly brushed with a toothbrush size brass brush.

iv'e stuffed up a few over the months but found this way works best for me.

i cant let em sit there looking all grubby, i know i shouldn't clean em but i cant help myself

hi all i haven't been out much lately, i think the cold weather is making my aches and pains worse, anyway i was throwing some rubbish out from my past finds and found a few things that im buggered if i know what they are from. can anyone tell me what these are off please, the hook looks like a picture hook but iv'e never seen one like this before and kinda makes me think it may not be.

got out today with a couple of members on here for about 3 hours, was slim pickings but well worth the afternoon out to meet another member.
my haul for the arvo.
very happy with the early shilling as i didn't have one before today and haven't found a silver for a long time.

amazing how the play of light and a bit of a clean up can make such a difference on the silvers hey ,.... well done for slim pickings, waited, slept, waited, and well worth the wait to see your post it was !

mate i was very happy with the shilling, its good to get something ya dont have. i said to to boys its been a long time since i found silver, i found it about 2 minutes before we had to move on
