Don't know what he was thinking but think this time he might be gone for good. We can talk about how silly he is like the media but perhaps that was his plan :/ conditions are real bad out there especially for such a little boat.
Looks like it will be a recovery mission instead of a rescue this time. These are some items they have found that are consistent with the missing boat.goldtrapper said:"Debris has been sighted" Latest report.
Off to Davey Jones locker for sure.

Someone is doing well out of it alright... they would saved half a million bucks if they just bought the guy a decent 100k boat in the first place.

I once remember reading that they paid someone $8000 to replace a toilet seat in parliament house.

I guess that you have never had the opportunity to pay the running costs for a helicopter. It's a bit different if the engine on your car stopped but if the engines on helicopters or aeroplanes stopped you have only one way to go, down. Maintenance and the amount of fuel they use are way different than your average car. Plus all the other fees involved with using airports.
About time they started charging these people for some of the costs involved.
Cheers

I have actually (if only monentarily). Back in 85 i remember paying $50 for a 15 minute joyride. The guy was doing them for years, so assume he was on ok money. Thats why i question 650,000 for a short period. I know there was planes and boats also.. i just hate the way when the gov. Buys something the price inflates. Was jist on news today how the gov. Bought an airport property worth 3 mill and instantly offer to pay 30 mill without even being asked. Fricken bunch of crooks in collars some pollies are.
Back to oont im surr the cost are high but i jist feel they are paying a p taking over inflated price to run everything because its government.
The boat guy.is pretty irrisponsible though. His boat should have been confistcated and scuttled after the first rescue, to save the fuy from himself and cost to public. Too late now though
