Just wondering if this is private land that the tracks run through. ??

Nice one. :) :)
I was wondering about that.
Got a few more spots to visit now.
Might extend the up coming Tuena meetup by a couple of days if weather permits it. :D
Do not want to get stuck on the other side.
.
Just checked with the Land's department as well.
The land is under a Conservation status and managed by an Undisclosed Party.
You can traverse the land via the tracks but, No Camping, No prospecting and no fires.
.
Happy Now as I did look at that before. :D :D :D

Heading up the hill from the river towards Neriga there should be tracks on the left that will take you half a km or so further down the river. Two wheel drive is fine except the last 50m in some spots.

I took a look down one of those tracks on Sunday, it was off to the left just before a fence line. It's a bit of a maze through there with some deep mud holes at the moment.

You'd be ok in any sort of 4WD, but my little Subaru is only AWD and I was on my own so didn't get all the way down to the river. As it was I bottomed out the front and rear on a little washed out dip on the way in, luckily I have a sump guard fitted.

I have a 2" lift kit sitting on the workbench at home so that will definitely be going in before next I head out there.

Been a while since I have been there , I did have a vehicle with high clearance altho only 2x4 and I enjoyed dry weather. Thanks for bringing me up to date Bundy ;)

mmmm that might explain the new signage I spotted a few weeks ago near the camping area on the left facing Goulburn on the high terrace.

No camping/bikes/fires etc and it was a lands dept sign, the positioning of it was not clear to me what area/lot it applied to....

The sign has only gone up in the last couple of months.

Cheers

Always pay's to ask the right department the right questions.
I must say, They were only too happy to help. :) :)
Good Value.
When asking it is advisable to have SIX Maps open and running in front of you.
Makes it more professional and a heck of a lot more easier to impart information.
The only information they can not give out is the person's or company's name if there is a tenure or lease on it.
Hope this helps folk's. :D

sorry bit off topic but what 'department' do you need to ask when looking for land access, as in if its someones land/lease etc or crown?

reason i ask is cause there is two spots i am looking at, at the moment and trying to figure out if i am allowed in there or not

Good example of why you shouldn't assume just because it is crown land it is ok for fossicking/prospecting

First of all, Go to,
https://maps.six.nsw.gov.au/
Zoom to the area you wish to look at.
1437721793_oallen.jpg

.
To get the boundary and lot numbers, At the top right hand corner is a blue drop down menu "Map Contents". Tick them all.
Then ring,
http://www.lpi.nsw.gov.au/
.
Give them the DP Number then the lot number in Red.
They can tell you if the land is private or what ever.
They CANNOT tell you owners names owing to the privacy act.
When finished, Thank them very politely.
They appreciate it.

A word of warning on boundaries.
.
Leave a distance of 20 meters (aprox 1 chain) in your favor opposite on where you "Think" the boundary is.
,
This is called "Leeway"
Your GPS and these maps have an average error of plus and minus 10 %.
If some prick pushed the point and called the surveyors in and found you were in fact 2 feet inside his boundary,
You are gone.
It does pay to check. :) :) :) :)

Hi Doug,

I didn't ask this before but did the Conservation status apply to all lots associated with DP 1084848 and 1084849

Cheers
