Snuck out this arvo for a mud hunt, but after an hour the rain came back! Been hard to get a swing this week, I miss the exercise. Roo penny, bling pendant.

Nice work Rocket. I'm soooo sick of the rain, my 23 fav spots have massive pools of water on them, it's actually reclaimed swamp so the water takes forever to evaporate or drain away and the black mud just makes for very unpleasant detecting. Might have to hit some beaches when the rain finally goes away.

I've had the flu all week too...... Getting cabin fever now though.

Well I dug in the mud this morning, making the most of a break in the weather. Hit a park, that used to be a homesite. Santa will surely chuckle, over the amount of BBs that I was smashed with lol Only one silver, like the little hammer, its the best of it I reckon. Was a non stop hunt, and very enjoyable.

Had a go at cleaning my oldest shilling, found a few weeks back.

The other side was worse, was never going to get a date.
So after a few cycles of bi carb rub, back into citric acid over 12 hours, it hardly improved. So I took to rubbing it with foil, and citric acid solution. That removed the staining easily, then a quick rub with bi carb.

Maybe give electrolysis a go, tends to work well at removing the many years of gunk on those older coins. Pity about the date, looks pretty worn.
