Just got my 4th Telstra tuff max, I've had 4.....but not because they're good. :N:

why didnt ya buy the "Telstra Dave" :) :) :)
oh hang on worked it out, they named it after me,unreliable, smells and uncouth on occassions :|

My daughter has had 3 or I phones, I've had mostly Motorolas but went with a samsung 6 a vouple of years back mostly because of a lack of a decent moto phone on the market. It was a pretty good phone. I've just updated to the samsung 8. Bloody brilliant phone. I wasn't sure about it when I 1st got it but love it now after a couple of weeks of having it. Bonza camera in it. Yeah Telstra used to do a payment in ya bill for the handset and then it was yours at the end of the contract. Now some foreign 3rd party company are involved in it and you only lease the handset now and have to send it back at end of contract when you update. This 3rd party is hopeless. If you want a new phone get it in person from the T shop. They took a month to deliver my phone to the wrong address, then lost it, then took another 2 weeks to leave it sitting at the star track depot when it was meant to be delivered to the right addy. In the end They were going to send me another 1 out, and I cracked the ***** with them and cancelled the order and went down to the T shop and got 1.

Crikey, I'm still using an old flip phone. I only need talk and text. If I want to look at photos, (or videos of pretty ladies with their clothes ON), I whip out the new laptop and see it in a full 15.5". No squinting at a tiny screen straining the old peepers. I don't want one of those bloody "smart" phones (the only smart thing about them is how they con people into upgrading to something "better" or prettier so they can walk around like zombies and get run over while blindly crossing roads.)
I know, I know, in the future we'll all need smart phones and their apps when money is no longer in use, but until then, I'll hang on to the old "flipper".

Looks like of Derrick Zoolanders ph ?
Im hearing ya about spending to much time on the smart ph,easily done but these days i reckon its made my life a whole lot easier, the only time i get on a computer now is if im on tengraph, banking, weather check, cuppla gold forums heaps of music on it for camping and no scratched discs (remember them days),camera and video as said, another big plus for me is ordering parts online, weve got two 4wds,truck-dozer,quad bike and a hotted up early holden,i maintain and repair them all if i can, cant afford to pay others to do it and then most cant do the job right anyway,in Kalgoorlie the shops want us to pay a premium for living in a town thats a bit remote, fair enough but some of the prices are a bit scarey so my first stop is ebay or an online mob,bought-paid for in a few minutes usually then delivered to the door within the week, some aspects of our lives these smart ph's and the net are a real advantage......

2000 bucks for a phone, is stupid, People will buy it just so they can feel the one upmanship that only lasts for a day possibly two days max until everyone they know has seen it and then the honeymoon is over, people just have to have the latest gadgets, A fool and his money are easily parted.

No conspiracy theory....technology kills
And that's why I won't ever buy a fly by wire vehicle  or any tech that uses the word smart

I'm no technophobe, I like to keep up with the latest in computer technology, but my flipper does everything I need in a phone.
Speaking of technophobes, I have a cousin who is afraid to own any sort of modern device, be they mobile phones of any type, credit or Eftpos cards, etc.
He has been driving around in a 30+ year old, 4 door Nissan diesel ute. For some time now the ute has been leaving a trail of "digestive juices" in it's wake.
Quotes for a repair are in the range of $2000 (or $1999 more than the thing is worth). FINALLY, after much **** stirring sorry, encouragement from family and friends, he went out a bought himself a brand new car, a Hyundai Elantra. Well, he was too afraid to drive it from the dealers and yours truely was roped in to drive it home for him. (and forgot about the speed camera just up the road as I blasted out of the car yard - sh*t happens). It has now sat in his garage for 2 months and the only time he has driven it, he scraped the side of the house backing down the driveway. He is now still driving the old Nissan ute.

im running the little samsung galaxy ace , was only about $150 a few years ago , have given it a proper wash in my work pants twice.....

1st time dried out in rice ;

2nd time i let it dry out naturally , nearly 2 years after the last washing ( both times immersed in water for around half hour each ) , and the thing is still working perfectly on the original battery.

Yeah I have one of them I bought 6 years ago, I give its phone number out as my normal number, But I have a Galaxy Note 1 as a private number and I have a Galaxy Note 3 for running some Apps but It does not have a Sim card in it because I use it as a PDA/Computer.

Im feeling his pain, probably scared of all the warning signs and alarms in the new bus,i need a ute and my old cruza (1986) might get retired in the new year for a new dmax im thinking,i know and trust the old girl like a good mate but loaded up for trips etc with a trailer it just chews the juice also,my god she's takin me some places and never let me down, feels like im about to have an arm amputated :(

i got the new iPhone 8 a week ago or so, not really anything overly exciting about it seems almost the same as the 6 i had two years ago, screens a bit better, camera is a bit better and a few 'extra features' like dust and water resistant but i am to worried (insert- scared) to test that claim from apple, just my opinion tho, will add i hate phones/technology/modern society and wouldn't have one unless the wife and job made it a 'must'
