Welcome back mate.
Welcome back mate.
Hi Mate, sounds like i am lucky re the turbo, we just cracked 200k with no problems so far, i did have a problem with our air cond though it stopped blowing cold so had it checked out in Karratha earlier this year and supposedly there is a bulletin out about it where the condensor pipes go through the firewall the grommet is to small, we had to get a new condensor fitted at a cost of $1300 by Major motors in Perth. Our 18 dmax threw a code and went into limp mode on the way home from work the other day, code is turbo over boost, the later ones up to 2020 are known to have turbo problems, some blokes are to there 4th turbo under warranty. We got to 80,000klms,i thought we might be lucky our turbo had been fine, but nope,it sounds ok and code cleared after a day but we were meant to load up and go bush for the week,im not taking the chance.
Spoke to a few turbo mobs, most offered a modified rebuilt original but one shop over east has a new kit to completely replace the troublesome mitsubishi turbo,it's expensive but a much better route i think.
The car will need a slight tune for this turbo so as with rustyhooks weve decided to do a dpf and egr delete at the same time.
Annoying time of year for this to go down
We're loosing a couple of weeks prospecting while it's still cool in the west
Agree.Too much text to read in a block for me!!
Good luck though with whatever it is you are trying to achieve!
I think it's 17-20 rusty, they got a mitsubishi turbo,if yours falls in that list your lucky by what ive heard to get to 200,000 klms, ours sounds fine and is running ok now but that's the start of the turbo on its way out im told.Hi Mate, sounds like i am lucky re the turbo, we just cracked 200k with no problems so far, i did have a problem with our air cond though it stopped blowing cold so had it checked out in Karratha earlier this year and supposedly there is a bulletin out about it where the condensor pipes go through the firewall the grommet is to small, we had to get a new condensor fitted at a cost of $1300 by Major motors in Perth.
Apart from that PPDs remap is still the gods as averaging 8.9l p/100 towing the camper with the quad on the tow bar.
Off to Menzies area on Monday and that will be interesting as now live in the midwest as it was to far travelling to the pilbara to our lease, about 300 kms of dirt, only probs we have had this year has been tyres, on the camper, you will really notice a differance with the dpf out mate and a remap, both my brothers now have done theres, ones a 2019, and the other bro crapped his self so did his 2020 one, i am wondering about the dpfs putting to much back pressure on the turbo and if thats the prob aye and like you say its quite common.
