You broke your bunnings digger! I reckon those slugs are 1940s, by 1950s is prob a bit to civilized, for people to be carrying ammunition around?

NIce hunt. The piece below the front of the ute is the hinge off a wooden builder's ruler.

You sure? my wife reckons its a thing you put in pay trolleys like woolies, its exactly the same size as a dollar coin, its got me stuffed

Yep, Ramjet is right...old wooden ruler brass hinge. But stick it in a trolley, may work!

Handy hunt there Havingago, what's the object sitting on the broken digger, looks ornate? :)

Yeah it is ornate but i have no idea what it is, i will clean it up and post a bit later :)

I like the little pendant looking things you found there mate. The oval and the decorative thingy.. the cast iron detail resting on the broken shovel is interesting too. Talkin bout the shovel..I had tge same one..only lasted half the day before it snapped there. Finally got a nice strong one at aldi with a proper weld and tough pivot joint. No fatigue after 6 digs and in some mega hard clay.

You can always smelt pulltabs easily to get some nice clean alloy ingots. The cans have a lot of paint and extremely thin and not worth the effort or fumes.

Gday all, I havent been out since my last post but was bitten by the bug yesterday morning and really needed to get out for a swing.

I had my best day in Goldies with 6 x $2 and 6 x $1. I also found a 2c coin, a 2003 Hot wheels car and a bullet casing. The bullet casing is marked LVE 7.62 x 5.1 and funny enough those bullets I found a while back are a perfect fit to the casing.

The casing was found about 2-300m from where I found the bullets. Can anyone here tell me more about those bullets like date age etc. as Im not really into guns but have a feeling they are old as the area I have found them in is so close to town that I cant imagine anyone running around with a gun in the last 40 odd years 8)

Town was bush in some places, not long ago too,... and everyone had guns and shot birds and cats(and dogs too),... and lots more cats, and still,....some more cats(ha). :D ,... bullets everywhere. :D

That is what is called a Dumb Dumb.
It is only a short accuracy shell but makes one heck of a mess that they hit.
Goes in in one place, Comes out another and takes every thing with it.
If some one could enlighten me but I think they were banned.

Gday all, with the cool weather I decided to go for a swing yesterday for about an hour and today for about 3hrs.

I found my 3rd silver ring, $5 in dollar coins, $8 in two dollar coins a couple of BBs and some twisted link jewellery piece (I think maybe silver) and a Kiwi dollar coin :) .

Since having the nokta I Have racked up over $130 in spendables and working my way to a pinpointer ;) .

I read on another post that detecting isnt always finding coins and treasure but honestly since getting my detector I have not gone a day swinging without finding a few dollars in coins so I must be lucky as well as persistent.

Guess find stuff every hunt, sometimes just few BBs, a penny, and two bucks, but its all good :)
