You can still say things tongue in cheek if they're portrayed in the right light. Using harsh wording, exclamation marks & a distasteful picture doesn't come across as tongue in cheek or in the right light - to me at least & from above others too.
For the record, even though I found it distasteful, I never reported it or asked for it to be removed but someone or others must have?
This thread was originally about a report of an unsavoury incident that just happened to turn out to involve a forum member. His mate was attacked & he selflessly went to his aid/defence. Nothing anyone wants to be involved in but sometimes theres no or little choice.
The thread wasn't about getting into fights, flashing weapons (even if tongue in cheek) or a platform to come & make other threats of physical violence like the above post. It's a sad world where this even had to happen let alone people getting wound up & putting up what could be perceived as threatening posts that hold little or no relevance to this site!

A shame and very sad news to hear a body of a 17 year old found in a shaft in the lerderderg. I am a frequent visitor to this area. It does make me stray on the side of caution as I always take my two boys out with me. If they were to see that it would be traumatic. Damn dogs that did this.

What I think some may fail to remember is that everything we say online is recorded forever. Say for example you get yourself involved in a bad situation like a fight where you had to defend yourself and the other person got seriously injured or worse. Wouldn't take to long for the police to find your comments on Facebook or forums that make you out as someone who would lend themselves to violence.

Now this is not having a go at anyone at all. (In fact, I liked the picture of the Adler gun as I'm getting one myself) Just think we need to be careful about the things we say online. In my opinion, it's good to hear about the stuff that happens out in the bush so we can all be aware and take precautions for ourselves. But too often we see people chiming in with comments about what they would have done or do in that situation (In a violent way). Also, as pointed out many times there are children that read this forum.

Back to the topic. There's a guy who has a hole in the yarrowee who is crazy, so beware of goin down there with your kids as he does talk abit explicit and openly talks about killing people....
